My wife and I had a baby in Phoenixville hospital on 11.30.2021. When the baby was born we explicitly told the billing office not to charge my wife insurance plan, as we were buying private insurance for the child. We provided a UFI number and were reassured they would bill the private insurance. The hospital billed my wife's plan which automatically changed her plan to a high deductible leaving us with an outstanding bill of approximately 2400. Furthermore, since they added the child to my wife plan, the private insurance plan rescinded coverage for my child. We have asked numerous times to have this cleared up over the last 6 months. We have received letters from my wifes plan saying the child was not covered and they have also asked Phoenixville hospital to refund the paid fees as a recovery request. Phoenixville hospital has sent this to collections which is now expiring and will have negative affects on her credit. This has been going on since January!!!!!! It is completely unacceptable on Phoenixville hospitals part to not make this an urgent processing. In addition it has been over 120 hours on the phone with 2 different insurance companies, insurance layers, the hospital, and many other patrons all because Phoenixville hospital did not follow instructions, and has refused to take the appropriate steps in a timely manner to have this cleared up.
