My mother, *******************************, died on July 22, 2023. On July 25, 2023, I phoned ******* at a number given to me by my mothers assisted living facility, ***********************, **, to shut off services at her apartment, #***. Even though my mothers bank had autopaid for the period during which she died, a period ending on August 7, a person at that ******* number said I would have to pay an additional $75.36 to get the services shut off. My statement for credit card ending in 6717 shows the card was charged on July 25, 2023, $75.36 by *** Web *********** PA.On or about Jan 10, 2024, I discovered on my 6717 statement a fraudulent $189.75 January 2, 2024, online charge made by a ******* store in **********. I live in ************, which has no ******* service, and hadnt been out of ************ since the end of July 2023. I did not make that $189.75 purchase. I reported this fraud to my credit card company, which reversed that fraudulent $189.75 charge and canceled that credit card to protect me from further fraud. While administering my mothers estate, I saw that ******* had refunded to my mothers autopay account the unused portion of the period of my mothers death, which period ended on Aug 7, 2023, in the amount of $31.11. But no refund of the extra $75.36 was ever made either to my credit card or to the autopay bank account.I called ******* customer service and they claimed they had already reimbursed a credit card. I got into my mothers online ******* account which showed a $75.36 payment by and refund to a credit card ending in 4771. I have never had such a credit card. My mother never had such a card. And no one I know ever had or has such a credit card.******* customer service declined responsibility for the $75.36 refund and said *** Web appeared to be fraudulent. **** at the *** Web number confirmed, #***********, payment by my credit card 6717 and agreed multiple times to refund the $75.36. To date no refund has been made.
