I purchased and completed board certification from the ABIM 10 years ago for $1345, which was good for 10 years. I attempted to purchase and complete their recertification this year, when due, but they will not let me purchase the 2022 plan for $220, without also paying an additional $725, which they state are for a maintenance of assessment program for 2018-2021. These charges are on my account even though I did not purchase them. Apparently they decided in 2018 that the 10-year fee they collected from me was not enough and that yearly fees would be due since 2018, but I received no notification or bills in the mail (although they were able to send me an advertisement in the mail for their new ongoing quarterly assessment program). I received none of the included services from 2018-2021. They admit that I was not participating in that program (for which they are charging the fees) as I found out they were listing my non-participation status on their public website during that time.I called and spoke to someone about the above issues on 3/18/2021, and then to a supervisor on 3/21/22, who said that I would need to talk to someone in the finance department. I received an email from that department stating they would not remove the charges from my account and that they announced the fees on their blog and website. They did not explain how they would compensate me for them showing my non-participation status for 2018-2021 on their website to anyone who checked, when they now want me to pay fees for those same years. I replied to the email but have not received a response in 11 days. It is fraudulent to charge me for services I did not and will not receive. It is deceptive for them to advertise that board certification was good for 10 years when it is not good for 10 years evidenced by them wanting to charge additional fees. I had no reason to check their website or blog. No explanation for how they can charge fees or late fees without notifying me.

I am an Internal Medicine doctor since 2000. I have practiced in hospital medicine for 15 years, and now practice outpatient medicine full time. I have a total of 22 years experience. Recently I recieved two concerning letters from the ABIM. The first was a white paper informing physicians how to talk their patient's into giving in to the COVID vaccine. It offered many psychological tactics and ZERO references to any real medical science. Nothing. It was pure propaganda. The Second essential said, "Just a reminder, spreading COVID misinformation is grounds to lose your Board Certification. No definition was given for "misinformation". I suspect it's anything that challenges their narrative. Which is VACCINATE VACCINATE VACCINATE. Given that the vaccines hardly work, and the boosters are just as worthless, and Pfizer has earned 33 billion dollars, and has more lobbyist in Washington than Senators I have come to the firm conclusion that the ABIM is on the payroll. Did we see this sort of activity with the AIDS epidemic? NO! With H1N1? NO! With ANY previous epidemic. NO! The ABIM has become corrupted, and only cares about power and money. It is UNETHICAL and completely contra to Primum Non Nocera (First, Do No Harm) to FORCE or COERCE anyone to receive an injection of ANYTHING. We don't have forced Leper Colonies any longer. The last, was shut down in 1999 in Carville, La. They are remembered as an "American Tragedy". It seems the ABIM doesn't understand medical history or the concept of Primum Non Nocera. I WILL NOT be reboarding with the ABIM. I refuse to give money to a corrupt AF organization. I urge all ethical physicans (hopefully all of you) to do the same. There are other Boarding agencies... or .. don't reboard at all. After all , the grandfather clause on MOC is a violation of the equal protection clause of the US Constitution. ABIM is no stranger to tyranny. Anonymous to avoid CANCELATION RIP ABIM. -MD, BCM, 1997
