This review is regarding Shoprite at Roxborough in Philadelphia, PA. I sent my daughter to the market on 7/31/2022 to get me some items. She used my debit card for the purchase. One of the items that she brought home were the pizza cheese its. I was sitting in my home eating the crackers when she noticed that the expiration date was March 31, 2022. I immediately stopped eating the crackers. She tried to return them so she could get a new box the next day and they told her not only could she not get a return because it was my card but she also there is nothing wrong with the crackers. My daughter not only had my debit card on her but she called me stating that the lady at customer service repeatedly told my daughter that the crackers did not expire until next year. Now I could understand if you could not do the refund on my debit card because it had my name but they didn't even exchange it. So, my daughter purchased another box. They could have given my daughter better customer service. Also, if anyone understands FIFO (that means first in and first out). Yes, my child didn't check the date prior to purchasing it but the staff did not show any concerns with their mistakes as well. It is not ok for expired food to still be on the shelves that long. I could not reach their customer service at all. So, I reached out to Shoprite generic customer service number for all there stores and they gave me a credit on my customer card but that does not solve the issue. Then the agent on the phone said it could be an issue with it's my word against theirs. I said to her that if your company used the same item number that was scanned on my receipt they would see the date of the product. It's like they automatically assumed that I made up a problem for a $4 box of crackers. Enter the receipt that I still have into your system and figure it out. I will not be returning to this store because they could have handled this situation better.
