My fiance purchased this property on 12/29/22. We noticed we had a small active leak in the rear area of the house specifically the kitchen. I decided to have the roof checked out and if need be have it replaced. Thinking not only will it offer peace of mind but potentially lower our home insurance premium. I reached out to Middle Creek Roofing 8/05/23 after googling roof replacement. On 8/07/23 a sales rep name ***** came out to our house. He went up and the roof took pictures and viewed the area of the leak. We then proceeded to go and sit in the living room to go over cost and options for the roof replacement. We agreed again for piece of mind to go with the highest quality materials that he offered. A few days later the roof was replaced. Not more than a month after. We got hit with the first rain since the replacement was done, and not did we have the leak still in the original location but it got worse, and a new leak developed in the front of the house over our master bedroom. A gentleman named ****** was sent out on multiple occasions to assure us the issue was resolved only to have the leak continue the next time it rained. Every time Ive reached out to ****** @ MiddleCreek it was a different reasoning for the active leaks. Now theyve decided that it is cause by some bad siding. Sidings that had no issues prior to the new roof installation. Now some of my belongings are getting drenched every time it rains.

Middle Creek Roofing replaced the roof on 08.22.2023. The homeowner did contact us a few times and stated that there was a leak. We responded every time to the call and went to assess the area in question. It was noted by not one but two technicians that the area that is causing the leak is from the siding which we did not replace. The technician did apply some caulk to the area as a courtesy, but the homeowner was advised that the area at the siding is causing the leak. The siding is old and needs attention. I have attached a photo for reference as well. The finance company reached out to us as well and we did send everything over to them as well making them aware of the situation.

I am rejecting this response because:
If the problem was in fact the siding as the roofing company is stating. Why was it not pointed out the first, second, third, forth nor the fifth time they came out? They decided this was the answer to getting rid of a now disgruntled customer. Had the siding being the issue I would have had issues with leak months prior to contacting them. Prior to their so called service we had no issues with leaks in this front area of the house. The only leak was in the rear over our kitchen. Had I known this was the kind of service I was going to be receiving I would had never contacted this joke of a business. Again I posted multiple reviews on the discuss and dissatisfaction I felt from them. They time and time again had them deleted. But were quick to reply to what I believe were ghost positive reviews that were being left on their site. It is a shame that these people have the audacity to still operate a business in the matter in which they are. I will take this to court if I have to. This is unacceptable. And for them to try to now brush it off as if it was something else that wasnt discovered the other five or so times they were out here is baffling.

      Regards,

It was noted by the technician on 12.18.2023 that there was an issue with water getting trapped behind the siding. We were out again on 01.10.2024 and a different technician noted again that the issue was with the siding on the dormer. For no charge they installed a piece of flashing and some caulk to try to help the situation. We were out another time on 05.31.2024 and the technician noted that he applied sealant to the outer perimeter. In regard to deleting reviews, we are not able to do that. We do in fact respond to ALL reviews good or bad. We also have come out to assess your problem every time you have contacted us. If you would like a technician to come out another time, please call our office to schedule.

      Business Response

We have been in contact with the homeowner.

We were made aware that there was an issue with the work on 10.18.2023 when one of our roofing specialists stopped by to follow up with the previously completed job. We have since been back to complete some repairs and are scheduled to be back out at the property on 01/04/24 (weather permitting). In regard to the phone number, our main office number is ************ which has always been our main office number. I am unsure about the other number mentioned, could have been an old marketing number. Prior to 10/2023 we were not made of any issues since we there over a year prior to complete the work. Looks like we were there on 10.31.2022 to take care of some initial issues and then there was not further communication after that until we stopped by for a check in and were notified that there were still unresolved issues.

Please let me know if you need any further information from our company.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me for the time being and will await the action of satisfactory repairs as promised by Middle Creek Roofing.  Please note that there were 4 previous complaints, with the first placed on their company website messaging application less than a month after the initial work being completed, the second with a letter sent via US Mail, the third with a sales representative who stopped by 6 months later looking for referrals, and the fourth was with a sales representative a year later, who actually started the ball rolling to initiate the much needed repairs. Please be advised that if said repairs are not completed in a timely manner and/or any damage is incurred to my home, I will seek legal action through the Pennsylvania State Attorney General's Office and through legal counsel.

      Regards,

Middle Creek Roofing was hired to do a roof install on 10/28/22 - 10/29/22. After the roof install the site foreman never returned to complete the walkthrough as promised. After about a week, I did a walkthrough on my own and discovered tar scrapes on the siding from falling shingles, a crack in the vinyl siding near my garage, from the buggy they were using to catch the shingles. The plastic cage over an exhaust vent was broken by falling shingles, and the aluminum capping was damaged on two windowsills. I made several more calls to the project manager at Middle Creek over the next 4 weeks until finally, on 12/01/22 at 1pm the site foreman returned to do the walkthrough and brought the handle for the skylight they installed on 10/28. He took pictures and made notes of the issues and said that it would be addressed. I pointed out that the driveway was too new to seal so I would need to wait until the spring and then purchase a depression filler before sealing the driveway. I told him was requesting $100 to purchase the filler and make the repair. He said that $100 seemed fair. After the walkthrough on 12/1, again I heard nothing from Middle Creek. On 12/8/22, around 9:30am I called Middle Creek again and told the project manager how displeased I was to still be dealing this “6-Weeks” after this job was supposed to be completed. He called me back on 12/8/22 at 11:56am and told me that they would come on Friday 12/9/22 to address my issues. He said, “I guess, they’ll be there between 9-3pm because they had some other things they needed to do. On 12/9/22 no one showed, and no one called to say they weren’t going to show. On Tuesday 12/13/22 I called another company to make the repairs and they came on 12/14/22. I sent a letter to the owner of Middle Creek outlining what I went through and requested reimbursement of $732.00. I was totally surprised that my request was ignored and no one contacted me.

Looks like the letter that the homeowner sent was finally received at our office end of last week. It was sent to an address other than our office address. The Operations Manager does now have the letter and will reach out to the homeowner to get this rectified. In the meantime, please feel free to contact our office at ************ and speak with our operations Manager.

Company advertises they are Amish and their work crew is Amish. 3 men arrived to replace our roof. They were not Amish. The care that was promised to protect mine and my neighbors' property was nonexistant. I was not happy with the results I could see, (they finished after dark) and the next day I saw they had replaced the shingles above our bay window that I specifically told the salesman not to touch. That job which was obviously rushed so they could complete it before dark, looks like it was done by an amateur and needs to be completely redone. When I mentioned my concerns about the workers and my dissatisfaction the project Mgr. implied I was racist.

Middle Creek Roofing is Amish owned. We also have Amish & English employees. The Operations Manager has tried to reach the homeowner several times to connect in regard to scheduling a time to come out and do an inspection and complete any leftover punch list items. We also have not received final payment for the project, please be advised that no warranties are activated until your account reached a zero balance. Please reach out to our Operations Manager at your earliest convenience to schedule a time to get your unresolved issues taken care of. We look forward to getting this resolved in a timely manner.
