I am filing a complaint against The Meet Group, parent company of Tagged, for banning my account without warning or justification while I had over $1000 USD in pending and accessible funds. These included $500 USD that was already processing to my ****** and $500 USD still in my Tagged wallet.I have already used part of this money to pay other users in good faith, expecting Tagged to release the funds as scheduled. Their abrupt ban has now placed me at serious financial risk.I have reached out to their support team and received no response. Additionally, I have observed an alarming pattern where many Black creators and users on Tagged and Meetme are disproportionately banned or restricted without cause, warning, or explanation. Dear BBB,
In looking into the matter, we found that we have repeatedly closed profiles belonging to Ms. ******** based on various Terms of Service violations.
Regarding this most recent BBB complaint, records show that the profile was permanently closed after Ms. ******** posted defamatory photos of another member, which is completely unacceptable. As in the past, Ms. ******** proceeded to make unsubstantiated claims about foul play and third party profile access only after we took action against her profile for the abusive behavior.
Even though the terms of service that Ms. ******** agreed to do not require us to do so, wed be happy to refund her for any unspent virtual currency purchases. However, we looked into this and found that the purchases on the profile were made through *****, and ***** does not permit us to issue refunds on their behalf - she will need to contact them directly.
Based on her inability to follow the rules and the repeated abusive behavior, Ms. ******** is no longer welcome to use Tagged or any of The Meet Groups applications.
If we identify that she has created a new profile using our service, it will immediately be closed and all virtual goods will be forfeited.

On April 25, 2025 I visited my friend's live stream with my newly created account. I had to create a new account because ********************** banned my other one and will not provide any feedback regarding the issue and then held my friend's diamonds hostage as a result (never returned to my friend still, and I've never disputed a charge myself). I tried to join the date box in my friend's stream, but my image is blurry due to a low level. On the app you need to be leveled up enough to make your video feed clear if you are entering a guest box in someone's live stream. I purchased a $99.99 pack of coins and began to tip *** ******** because this method is effective in earning XP to level up. I know the streamer on a personal level and they are aware of me as a close friend. My level begins to rise and I advise the group and streamer that I have reached 13 and on my way to 20. I continued to gift to earn XP and leveled up to 14 and wanted to celebrate with the friends on the advancement. I advised I was now 14. After a couple more interactions, I received a message that said I must be 18+ in order to use the service. I am beyond that age, so I click "ok" and continue to interact. Shortly after that I'm removed from the service and notified I'm in need of verifying my account. During this time, I learn that my friend's profile was disabled. Her profile is set up under ************************** I'm only to assume that my comments about my level was the reason her profile was disabled, since we can't get a straightforward reason for the account disabling from repeatedly ignored emails to MeetMe. A misunderstanding between their AI software that reviews comments and my celebrating my level up achievements, is believed to be the cause of the disabling. My account has since been verified, yet still no reasonable resolution to the issue. The main concern is account restoration for my friend as this decision to disable the account was made without proper review and faulty tools.Business Response

Mr. ******** does not have any insight into proprietary moderation tools, investigation procedures, or actions taken against other member profiles. Disciplinary actions, such as profile removal, are only taken in the case of a confirmed Terms of Service violation.

Dear BBB,
We received correspondence from Ms. ******** on April 26th, and our support team responded within 24 hours confirming that the profile was terminated due to a violation of the Terms of Service.
Our records show that Ms. ******** had received and acknowledged multiple in-app warnings following previous violations of the Terms of Service. An excerpt from each warning includes:
"Repeated offenses will lead to longer bans and may result in account deletion."
The profile has been permanently closed.

I'm dissatisfied with their decision about my account terminated. I believe in my heart that I didn't violate the terms and conditions that day because Im just sitting and drinking tea while talking to everyone. It was mistakenly ban because before they ban my live stream,my moderator got banned first and his account disabled because his account is not verified yet. My moderator got his account back after he verified his account. I got banned mostly because of reports from the haters and jealous viewers. I already experienced few times I got banned because of doing nothing but sitting. Mostly mistaken ban. So sad that they don't give chance or atleast lower the penalty because I'm one of their loyal verified streamer for 7 years and I did my best to support their platform. Im experienceing an unjust subsequent banning of my account on ********************** has not only caused severe hindering and extreame damage to my streaming career and severe detriment to my financial stability but has also deeply negatively impacted my mental and emotional well-being to a critical state.On January 19th 2025, my verified account was deleted without explanation or prior notification. I received no official communication from the company regarding the action. After 3 weeks of persistent outreach, I finally received a partial response stating that the issue had been resolved and that I'd be able to use my account. However, my account only functioned for half a single day, displaying a pop-up message indicating a permanent ban until year 2092.Following the apps update the same day, I checked my account again, only to find it permanently banned, with all functionalities disabled. Many other users, including VIP supporters and top badge streamers of the application, have reported the same issue, yet their concerns also ignored or met with significantly delayed responses as they've tried many attempts to assist me regarding my account.For the past 3 months, I've sent daily emails to 3 main support contacts for the meetme app company, only to be repeatedly dismissed or ignored. I have been an active and loyal user of this platform for 4 years, investing over $150,000 into its services. This isn't the first time I have encountered this issue, my account was also unjustly deleted in February 2024, and it took 3 months for it to be reinstated without a response as to the cause or that it was resolved.This ongoing negligence has resulted in significant financial loss and emotional distress. I'm requesting the immediate unbanning of my account and appropriate compensation for the damages this has caused to my career, financial stability, and mental health. Ms. *** has no insight into MeetMe customer support interactions with other members and the assertion that MeetMe does not respond to customer inquiries is just untrue. For privacy reasons, MeetMe does not discuss profile issues with a third party.
Ms. *** reached out to our support team on January 24th, 2025 regarding profile access, and received a response within 48 hours confirming the profile was closed due to a violation of the Terms of Service. No reinstatement of the profile or compensation of any kind is available.
Excerpt from the Terms of Service that Ms. *** agreed to:
We may without prior warning or subsequent notice terminate your access to MeetMe for any or no reason. We may decide to terminate your access for a number of different reasons, including without limitation (1) if you violate or fail to comply with the Agreement, including our Content and Conduct Policy or other related agreements or guidelines, (2) if you provide false information in your profile, (3) if you do not use MeetMe for an extended period of time, (4) by request of law enforcement or other government agencies, (5) for discontinuance or changes made to MeetMe or any part thereof, or (6) technical or security issues or problems. We will make all termination decisions in our sole discretion, and we will not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your account or access to your Content or MeetMe.
We checked our records and found that all virtual currency Ms. *** had purchased was fully consumed prior to the termination of the profile. In that case, no refund is available.
