* 8/27/2025 * HIC#PA184890 * Paid $3,000 * Install new electrical meter panel for a new home at ********************************** * Multiple bids received for job. ****(Lucid Electrical) wasn't the lowest but **** convinced me that the estimated two-day job would be done with top of the line stainless steel materials and the box installation would be mounted to the side of the house and have color-matched siding J channel installed. We spoke in great detail since I had to separately purchase a special electrical meter box per Duquesne light. In our detailed discussions, we specifically talked about the installation. Photos of the outside electrical box and ************* location, access to the crawl space and inside electrical panel were texted. Installation was scheduled and I was to meet him on-site the first day of the two day job. I went on site to meet **** at 10am on the scheduled first day and see **** in the final stages of installing the outside electrical box in the completely wrong location. A two day job by his and other competing bids account that he was finishing up in 3 hours of actual work. I discussed this incorrect location (now mounted to the front of the house and cosmetically destroying the new house's drive by appeal), and **** clearly apologized for not looking at the texted pictures before installing it. **** asked what he could do to make this right. I said that removing it, fixing all the installation damage and relocating it to the correct location. Further heated discussions ensued and **** then stated that I was "gaslighting" him and accused me of lying multiple times. **** got into his truck to leave and then proceeded to run over the new sewer cleanout access. I stopped him, took pictures of his accident, and stated his damage needed to be assessed by a plumber. He agreed. Still pending. **** forced full payment of $3k without fixing his mistakes, 3rd third-party electrical inspection took place with more issues.Business Response

Hello,
***** contacted me to install a 200a Ariel ******* entrance.
During initial conversation, ***** said he would like the ******* on the side of the house, to which I replied "We will have a look and see how things measure out", he replied that another guy (assuming he meant electrician) said its possible to do it - insinuating that because some random person ive never met said it, it must be true. After an in person evaluation, I reviewed the details of the job that he had texted me, the largest detail being location. I thought ***** had said side of the house, but what he texted me was front right side corner - this is a crucial detail because i was about to tell ***** it cant go on the side of the house because the distance conflicts with the power companies guidelines, but I didn't have to tell ***** that because where he texted me to put the ******* is exactly where I was going to suggest he put it. So I called ***** to discuss my findings and that we would accept the opportunity to bid the job and we could accommodate mounting it in that location.
***** called later to ask why my estimate was higher than the rest, "Well, someone had to be the highest bidder", I joked. ***** said im expecting this to take a few days then, I assumed he was joking - I laughed and said, "Only if im by myself, but thats why I have employees!" And we laughed.
Day of install - ***** showed up at 10am, we were just about done - ***** made it a point to guilt trip me. I checked my notes, our texts, and what I realized was - I had done nothing wrong. I explained to him that we did exactly what he told us to do, in the place he told us to do it.
Ultimately, ***** had built in his mind this scenario on how everything should go. He thought he did his research, he thought he understood how electrical code and local power authority compliance worked - but he didn't. Every contractor on that job was sick of him - he still thinks the General contractors name is **** (His name is not ****, *****).
I think ***** is overworked, stressed out, and this is the straw that broke him - so he took it out on me.
I forgive you, *****Customer Answer

As we discussed, all of the BBB correspondence went into my junk folder and the only email I received was the one that said the case was closed. Please re open the case with my response and new information.
****** response below is full of inaccuracies and made-up conversations.
I received three electrician quotes for this job. **** is the ONLY electrician who never went on-site for his quote preparation. ****** first time on site was the day of installation.
**** has no proof of an on-site meeting with me in advance of the installation. All the other on-site electricians all indicated that the Front, right side corner of the house meter location was acceptable and to code, factoring in the future gas meter and window locations on that side
The other on-site electricians confirmed that the street to the meter socket was under 70 feet, which is well under the code maximum of 100 feet (Duquesne Light).
**** indicated to me during our initial conversations that the reason why he didn't need to go on site was that the other electricians had determined all the details during their visits, and I presented their information to him.
One key part of this communication was my txt message with photos (As seen below, **** only selectively included one of these pictures) and some of the message. The full txt photos and message are below.
These indicate the electrical panel, the side of the house where the meter was to be mounted and the access to the crawl space. My location, Front, Right, Side corner, rear right side
**** NEVER received a photo of the front of the house as a meter location which is where he decided to install it.
When confronting **** when I came on site at 10am, **** clearly apologized for not looking at the texted photos for the meter location. He also had no reason as to why he didn't wait to start after our on-site meeting.
All three bidding electricians indicated this was a two-day job, not a joke as **** indicated in his complaint response. Our on-site meeting, the morning of the first day of the two-day job, was to go over any questions since he had never been on site before. Instead, when I came on site to meet him the job was completed.
**** came early that installation day without being here before made the sole decision to put the meter on the front of the house without communication to me or waited until I was to meet him on site. Getting the two day job done in a few hours was his only goal.
**** clearly was upset about his meter location mistake since he drove his truck over the exposed and fully visible sewer cleanout. The extent of this sewer damage is still being investigated by my plumber, which will be ****** responsibility to correct.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The following facts are undisputed by the business owner:
The contracted electrical service took place without the owner present, and the contractor gained access to the inside of the house without the owner's knowledge
The contracted vendor relied on the other electrical vendor's bids and information gathering to create his bid, instead of going on-site
The contracted vendor was to meet with the owner on site, but instead gained access to the site independently before an agreed-upon on-site meeting time.
The 2-day contracted electrical meter project was completed in 3 hours and before a discussed on-site meeting time with the owner
The owner supplied location photos and other data that were ignored by the contracted vendor.
The contracted vendor incorrectly installed the meter in a non-discussed location that visually destroys the curb appeal of the house
The contracted vendor refused to acknowledge any blame for the clearly mislocated electrical meter that he decided to place at his discretion.
The contracted vendor damaged a visible sewer line cleanout by driving over it after leaving the site in anger (damage level still pending camera inspection)
The contracted vendor is a non-mature individual who seems to think that reverting to high school name-calling and making up personal attacks of the owner from other "on-site contractors" as an excuse for his clear errors and terrible business practices.
If anyone is interested in using Lucid Electric and **** for electrical service needs in the future, all the above issues, including the following unfounded and inaccurate personal verbal attacks from him, can be yours!
The owner was gaslighting him
The owner is lying to him
The owner is bullying him
The owner is stressed and can't handle the construction process
Other contractors hate the owner
The owner doesn't know the names of his other on-site contractors
But as **** stated...."*****, I forgive you."
A refund of the full contracted amount is still demanded

The customers complaints contain repeated inaccuracies and contradictions.
The customer originally requested the side of the home for the meter. After reviewing the site, it was clear that location would not meet *** and Duquesne Light requirements. Installation there would not have passed inspection or been energized. The meter was placed in the only compliant location available. The installation passed inspection on the first attempt, confirming it was correct.
The customer sent multiple texts with photos. Some referenced the side of the house, while others explicitly instructed placement at the front. I have documented proof of these conflicting directions. The claim that I ignored his input is not accurate.
Other contractors quoted two days. I completed the work in three hours because I was fully prepared, efficient, and knew what was required. Passing inspection proves that speed had no negative effect on safety or quality. Taking longer does not equal better workmanship.
The customer was aware the installation was scheduled that morning. Work began and was completed before his arrival. There was no attempt to sneak access or avoid an on-site meeting.
While leaving, I did not see the sewer cleanout. I stopped immediately, inspected it, and observed no visible damage. The customer took photos while I remained on site. Before leaving, I asked him directly if he was comfortable with me departing. The suggestion that I left in anger is inaccurate.
At no point did I force payment or engage in unprofessional behavior. I remained calm and professional throughout, even while being subjected to personal attacks and accusations.
The reality is that the work was completed correctly, passed inspection, and was approved by the utility. My responsibility is to ensure safety and compliance, not to install equipment in a location that would fail inspection. While I regret that the customer is unhappy with the appearance, I cannot agree to a refund. The contracted work was completed as required, safely, and to standard.
This will be my final response to this complaint. Lucid Electrical Solutions will continue to do what we always dodeliver safe, compliant work that meets inspection and utility approval, and stand by our commitment to professional service for our customers.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint in any way. Not even an apology or attempt to make things right.****** last comment has become more professional, but still provides no resolution (all you can judge reading ****** comment history). All the issues remain regarding incorrect placement, lack of communication, approach, and dishonest timeframe for work completiondamage to property from his anger, etc.
If **** and Lucid state this is their last response to this complaint, any other response to him is a waste of time. Clearly, this business doesn't hold the values of a licensed PA contractor and should have its standing in the Better Business Bureau noted as such.
Buyer beware for him and his company.....
I now have complaints to the attorney general's office regarding this situation as a licensed PA contractor
