I took my vehicle to this shop that is owned by ****** on 4 10 25 I spoke directly with ****** when car was towed to his lot for repair The verbal agreement was that rpm would do the two repairs needed which were:Remove/replace fuel pump Remove/replace engine oil cooler The total quoted price (incl) labor, parts & taxes was $1489.07 *************** clearly states that $744 was to be paid to order parts needed for ************ work was completed ********** agreed that after work was completed, I could make two payments on the consecutive Tuesdays that followed in order to pay the balance of the repair, since I told him I wasnt working & depended on UE funds that arrived on Tuesdays & was willing to work with me for the balance On 4 10 25 I paid 500 cash On 4 15 I paid 250 cash Which covered the down payment needed to order the parts & complete the repairs On 4 18 I drove past the shop & saw my vehicle was still sitting in the same spot On 4 21 I called the ************* on his personal phone & inquired as to why my car was not started **** answered & told me that there was an issue with getting a part from vendor I talked with ****** after that & he told me they were waiting for me to give more money to cover the parts I reminded him of what the invoice states & what his girlfriend/receptionist told me when dropping car off ( 1/2 of total must be paid before parts/work is done He apologized & said he would get the parts ordered & complete the repairs by the end of week Later that day I went into the shop to talk with ****** to confirm all was good to move forward **** told me she would go back into the shop area & see if he was there She came back in & said he was busy but said he told her the parts were ordered & the work would be done I asked her to let me know if anything changed & she confirmed she would On 4 22 ****** called me & stated that he replaced the fuel pump & never ordered the parts for the engine oil cooler which violated our agreement

we are a small privately owned repair shop, we do not take payments work is paid in full once the vehicle is complete, we do have a company that does finance customers called synchrony which i made ***** aware of  ,a long time customer of ours (*****) ******* brother asked if i could help his sister out with getting her car repaired, i agreed to do what i could, i spoke with ***** several moths ago  she stated the dealership had diagnosed her car with issues and it had been sitting there for months because she didn't have the money to get it repaired   i told her i would do what i could to help her get on the road again, I stated i would need half of the cost down to order the parts and get started on it, BEFORE it was towed up here , a month or so went past and i didn't hear from her,  then she called **** at my front desk which is just an employee of mine no relation at all , ***** also spoke to my wife ***** in this process ,the vehicle was towed up here and sat for over a week without initial down payment which was her first breach , she finally gave me 750$ which did not cover all of the parts, she got my personal cell phone number calling and texting me multiple times, she was calling me on my personal phone and not being friendly with my staff when she did call the shop, she was being very demanding  , i was under the impression that she understood that her car couldn't be picked up until it was paid in full , but a week after she gave me the 750$ (which was shy of the total for the parts) she was calling and asking why her car has not moved yet on my personal phone    i explained that it wasn't enough money to cover the parts, but after calling my cell phone multiple times i caved in and ordered the parts with some of my own money  , we installed her fuel pump, i called her and stated her car was now running and we were very busy with other customer paying jobs that if she needed her car she could get it and if she was to drive it to make sure she checked the fluids daily because the engine oil cooler wasn't installed , i said this would be a good time for her to save up the rest of the money to get the other part of her car fixed and allow us to get caught up on the other customer paying jobs , she took the car the same day and apparently  did not check her fluids, the next day she sent a email saying she was going to the bbb and contacting a attorney , ***** was only billed for the work that was done ( the fuel pump) and given change back from the 750$ she was given a receipt with the parts labor and tax for the fuel pump ,  i sent her other part back to try and recoup some of my losses , long story short she did not keep to her word, was very unprofessional and didn't have the money to fix her vehicle , i helped a lot of people out in the years I've been in business , but ***** proved that she's not someone id ever help out again and now she's just trying to be manipulative to get what she wants and or something for free which is very sad , i could give you more specifics if needed but this is pretty cut and dry on what happened,  she also stated in the email that my shop reviews are really good  and they are because we are honest ,fair and professional   ***** proved she is none of those things    thanks

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards, and the part was not brittle he was trying to turn the ratchet, and it broke. I’ve attempted to change the o2 sensor myself, and had no problem. The part was 161.11 after tax. I had to replace it because the car couldn’t be driven 5 miles before overheating. As the pictures submitted showed, there was a copper pipe and many o ring clamps. I would like to be refunded for the price of the part.for reference, I will post the picture again as well as a copy of the receipt.

customer brought in a supplied part o2 sensor   while we were doing the repair the heater hose plastic lines were so brittle that when touched disintegrated, informed the customer of the issue and said i would try to repair it as a short term fix so they were able to drive it that day  i certainty said that that part needed to be repaired with new parts and the other hose that was not leaking should also be repaired as well due to how brittle the plastic was   i did not charge to do the short term fix for them that included hose clamps antifreeze and a universal t pipe out of the kindness of my heart   i would be happy to correctly repair there vehicle if they are willing to pay to have it done
