2 starsReview of April 30 2024 experience with 1-800-Got-Junk. Felt like a bait-and-switch situation. 1-800-Got-Junk would not give us an estimate over the phone, but based on their website's stated prices for a full truck load, we estimated that they might charge us about $500 to remove the remaining contents of our parent's apartment. A professional moving company had charged $725 the day before to have 3 guys move furniture (including items with glass shelves) and artwork (including frames with glass) to two locations, which they did quickly and carefully. Two guys came from 1-800-Got-Junk and quoted us $1500 (about 1 1/2 truck loads) to move furniture (no glass shelves), books, clothing, miscellaneous (not delicate) kitchen stuff, some of which we wanted donated and some of which was junk. When we protested this ridiculous quote, the guy who seemed to be in charge then quoted us $900-something to take ONLY the junk. Still much too high. He came down to about $629. We asked if he could also include a trash bag's worth of clothing in that price. "Well, if you had asked me before I said that price... but now I'd have to add $30 to take the bag of clothes too..." We said, forget the clothes, just take the junk for your overpriced quote. We hired another company (Junk Rescue) for the rest: they gave us a careful quote over the phone, two guys came promptly, reduced their price from their original quote because we had done some disassembly, asked less than $300, and were a delight to deal with. I would never use 1-800-Got-Junk again. Highly recommend **** ******.Review fromSarah S
