I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the repair work performed on my 2000 ******* Tiburon at A to Z ****************** Shop Starting 06/28/2023. Despite paying A to Z ********** a total of $3,000 plus for various repairs, the issues with my vehicle have persisted, and I am now left without a functioning car. Specifically: On 06/28/2023, I informed A to Z mechanics my engine light being on. **** agreed to do a diagnostic and let me know the problem. I was told to leave the car. After a few hours returning, ***************** guy stated the exhaust manifold was causing the engine light to come on. A new exhaust manifold and labor would total $1,351.50 to fix the problem. Once the job was done. As soon as I drove it off **** property the light came on and the car was jerking, driving roughly. I ask did they do something else to my car because it was not driving like that before I dropped it off. I also ask did they test drive it after they fixed it? **** had his mechanic guy to checked the car again. I needed ball joints, wheel bairing, tie rods, two tires. I paid $1,049.40 for the repair. ******** stated I had a leak near the top of the gas line. The gas line had to be dropped. Despite these multiple repair attempts, A to Z Five Point mechanics have been unable to properly diagnose the underlying problems. At this point, given the age (23 years) and high mileage of my *******, I was told by another mechanic the transmission has a leak in it which caused the engine light to come on. And A to Z Five points should have given me a correct diagnose. New mechanic stated it would be more prudent to replace the vehicle entirely. Therefore, I am requesting a full refund for the exhaust manifold A to Z stated was the engine light problem. The repairs performed for the engine light did not resolve the issues. I should not have to bear the financial burden of A to Z inability to properly diagnose or unwillingly to do so.

To whom it may concern this has been a issue she has filed already and we recieved a letter that it was dismissed. We tried all we could to fix the issues that she was bringing to us as cheap as possible due to finanical issues and even did her last repair at no charge to her. As im sure you are aware sometimes shops will do work for other shops. We have been contacted recently for her car at another local shop to remove and replace her clutch which has recently failed. At the time of her orignial repair she had no money to replace her vehicle and was trying to make the one she had last as long as she could. After 20 years and lack of maintenace a vehicle has a lot of wear on it and unfortunatly things tend to go wrong. When she originally brought the car to us she had to have it towed back to her house becuase we told her that the car was unsafe to drive. She had to wait to find a organization to help her with the repairs finanically to make it drivable. A few months later when we preformed the reapirs she had left without issue and came back for another repair we had told her about. She only then had a issue with her car holding back when our repair did not require her wheels to come off of her car to preform and we covered the repair for free. She was since then driving the car. We have not heard anything since the case was dismissed not until we just heard she needed another repair to her vehicle and was asked to complete the repair and we refused stating that we have had a issue in the past and did not want to be involved.

In response to the letter we have received involving ***************************, we would like to explain how we tried to resolve the issue as peacefully as possible. On 06/08/23 ****************** had her 2000 Tiburon towed in for the following repairs:front outer tire rod ends, drivers side front wheel bearing, passengers side front lower ball joint, replaced two tires and replaced a head light in the amount of $1,081.20 with tax for those repairs. A few months prior, she had brought in her vehicle with complaints that the front end of the vehicle felt unsafe. After looking at the vehicle, we then told her that we did not recommend her driving it in that condition until she had the repairs performed. At that time, we also advised her she had a broken exhaust manifold that wasnt a priority compared to the other issues. At that time, she had the vehicle towed out of here until she was able to find a third party to pay for the repairs. Once she received her vehicle back, she had said that she would like to get the manifold done once she could find another third party to pay for those repairs. On 06/28/23 ****************** came back to have her exhaust manifold and catalytic converter done in the amount of $1,351.50. After she got the vehicle back, she notified us that she had a check engine light on, and it felt like her vehicle was holding back. We told her that we needed to look at it and go from there. Once we were finally able to look at the vehicle, we discovered that her caliper was locking up and she needed a caliper and brake hose. At this time, she began accusing us of doing something to her vehicle and blaming us for the issue. We explained to her that we did not touch her brakes or remove the wheels of her vehicle to do the exhaust manifold. We also explained that due to the age of her 2000 Tiburon and with it being 23 years old, there is always going to be the possibility of issues. She unfortunately was not happy with that response.  Since ***************** was able to raise enough money for all the work we had already done and this was a safety concern, we had covered the cost of this safety issue and replaced her caliper and brake hose at no charge. As for the check engine light, we did see that it was on for an evap leak. We smoked the system to try to see where the leak was coming from and found it was coming from above the gas tank, diagnosed free of charge.
Since we had already had ongoing issues with her feeling as though we had damaged her vehicle in some way, we decided that it was probably best for someone else to bring down the gas tank and fully diagnosis the vehicle to determine if it was the gas tank itself or just the seal and then repair. ***************** had us in contact with ************************* from the ************************ who paid for the exhaust manifold. He was involved from the start of the issues and was fully aware of the situation and was also contacted with the diagnosis. He said he completely understood that it was an older vehicle and appreciated us helping her resolve the safety issue. He also said he understood that we no longer wanted to get involved with working on this vehicle due to the worry of future conflict and would rather part ways amicably. At this time, we feel as though we have done all we can to try to resolve the issue at hand without taking blame for issues we see all the time in older vehicles. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us at ************ and ask for **** or *****.

Firstly, A to Z are talking about other repairs they claimed to have fixed, clutch, ball joints, various  repairs. I am talking about the mis diagnosed of the engine light. A new mechanic stated it was the transmission leaking and that A to Z should have known  this in the beginning, but failed to mention it in order to keep me coming back spending money for other unnecessary repairs. And if they did all they could they would have target the problem in the very beginning instead of having me fix a exhaust manifold that was old but did not need fuxing. It was the transmission leak that caused the engine light to come on. And the person that referred me to them apologize for referring me because  they did her the same way. Plus, another neighbor who live in apt 206. They got  rude tp me when I start asking questions. Very bad business. Then they fabricate  to confuse me. The engine came on after I picked the car up. Especially, if you are a woman. They took advantage and over charged me.

A to Z did not do all they could. They diagnose the engine light and told me it was the exhaust manifold. They are lying they never put a clutch in my car. They put ball joints...etc. I am talking about they engine light the mis diagnosed and kept over charging. A new mechanic  says they should have told me the  transmission had a leak and that because  of the mileage it would be a waste. A to Z are mechanic and they did a diagnose the very first time I was referred to them. They kept me coming back numerous  times charging but never fixing the problem. This went on and on. When I started asking questions  which is what any person would do they begin to get rude. After all the money I spent coming back, trusting them. The entire time it was the transmission.  If I knew that in the beginning I would not have wasted money coming back.

I am rejecting this response because:

I brought my ******* Tiburon 2000 to your shop for repairs, and I paid you over $3000 to fix the issues with my vehicle. However, I have since discovered that the problems with my car were much more serious than you led me to believe. Specifically: You never informed me that the transmission in my ******* was faulty and needed to be replaced. Given the high mileage on my vehicle, this was a critical issue that you should have identified and discussed with me before performing any repairs at all.. Instead, you charged me thousands of dollars without addressing the root cause of the problem. Furthermore, you claimed to have replaced several parts on my car, I admit you did replace some parts. but upon further inspection, it is clear that some of these parts were never actually replaced. And I never needed a clutch so you are making this part up. I am left with a non-working vehicle that is essentially unusable. This is completely unacceptable. I trusted you and your shop to diagnose and fix the issues with my ******* properly, but instead you took advantage of me, kept me spending money and left me with a car that is still not functioning.I am requesting a full refund of the exhaust manifold  $1,500.00.I paid you to fix the engine light as well as compensation for the time and inconvenience this has caused me.

    Regards,

The mechanic failed to disclose the transmission problems and high mileage of my ******** which were critical issues they should have identified and discussed with me before performing any repairs.

The mechanic claimed to have replaced parts that were never actually replaced, leaving me with a vehicle that still does not function properly.
Given the mechanic's dishonest and negligent actions, I am justified in requesting a full $1,500 refund.

I should not have to pay for repairs that did not address the root cause of the problem. I deserve to be treated fairly, and the mechanic should be held accountable for taking advantage of  me being a retired woman on a fixed income, alone, then fabricating about the situation. They should be ashame of themselves.

I am  following up on my previous complaint regarding the faulty repairs performed on my 2000 ******* Tiburon at A to Z shop. I am deeply disappointed to see that **** has provided a dishonest response to the BBB regarding this matter. To reiterate the key facts:
I paid your shop more than $3,000 for repairs, and $1,500 specifically for work on the exhaust manifold. However, you failed to disclose that the root issue with my vehicle was actually a faulty transmission, which you did not properly address. Additionally, you claimed to have replaced parts that were never actually fixed or replaced, leaving my car in a non-working condition. *********; response claiming the work was performed satisfactorily is simply untrue. I have provided repair invoice  with your shop, which clearly demonstrate the dishonest and negligent manner in which you handled this repair.
I am again requesting a full refund of at least  the $1,500 I paid for the exhaust manifold work, as that was clearly not the core issue with my vehicle. I deserve to be reimbursed for the repairs you did not properly complete. If you continue to refuse this reasonable request, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter further. I am prepared to file legal action to recover the money you owe **** urge you to reconsider your position and provide the $1,500 refund I am rightfully owed.

First and formost I would like to say that after the initial repairs were completed the reason we recommended the exhaust manifold repair was because of it being cracked not related to anything about a transmission issue and this is the first we are hearing about any issues with youre transmission. We initially repaired the vehicle because it was in such a condtion that it was unsafe to drive. The problems the vehicle continued to have are unrelated to the previous. Unfortunately we cant predict all issues that could end up happening at the end of the day you paid us to make ur car safe that day and there were things we had seen and we made you aware of. Im sorry that your car continues to have issues but we completed all repairs you had paid for and also the other repairs we did for free to continue to make sure your car was safe to drive. After that we decided to cut ties with you because we felt that we could run into ongoing issues with how you were towards us. After running a free smoke test to help you narrow down your issue with your evap system we highly recommended you continued your repairs with a different repair facility. We can not take responsiblity for something we did not do and can not predict.

     Complaint: 21539089

I am rejecting this response because:

If you had propertly diagnosed my vehicle in the beginning. You would have identified the transmission was faulty.

A second mechanic stated the enginel light remained on because  of the transmission faulty. As I stated before A to Z should have identified this issue from the start.

The mechanic stated due to the high mileage it would not be worth fixing. And also A to Z should have properly address this issue to me as well. Instead, they kept me coming back to get as much money out of me as possible..

Until I got a support group to  call them on my behalf. They quickly switch up and ***************** said not to get anyone else involved.

You claimed to have fixed various repairs on the vehicle many times, when you had me to leave the vehicle. My new mechanic (****) stated there is no way you could have missed this from the beginning..

The second diagnose clearly show the core problem was actually a faulty transmission that cause the engine light to come on, which is why I took the car to A to Z  shop in the first place. They started naming all this other stuff wrong never focusing on fixing the major problem. The engine light the shop neglected to identify and properly fix.

To make matters worse, they falsely claimed to have replaced parts that were never actually repaired or replaced with no proof, leaving my car in a non-working condition.

When I tried to address this unacceptable situation, the shop's response to the Better Business Bureau was nothing but dishonest.

They asserted the work was performed satisfactorily, which is a blatant lie. I was taken advantage of as a retired customer, and the shop's negligent and deceptive conduct has caused me significant financial hardship.

Despite providing the relevant documentation, the shop has stubbornly refused to take responsibility or provide the $1,500 refund I am rightfully owed for the faulty exhaust manifold work.

I am now forced to escalate this issue further through legal channels, as I will not be deterred from seeking justice.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to avoid A to Z Shop at all costs.

Their unethical practices and complete disregard for their customers are unacceptable. Do not trust this shop with your vehicle or your money
