In October 2021, engaged the services of Leffler Energy to deliver home heating oil. Upon contacting Leffler Energy, the sales department talked us into a maintenance service plan, and to pay for an initial inspection of the system, to which we agreed. In addition, they recommended a price guarantee plan, and it was explained we had to buy fuel for a year to be covered in that plan. We entered into these plans/agreements in good faith, fully intending to use Leffler Energy exclusively. Unfortunately, Leffler Energy did not conduct business with us in a manner that demonstrates good faith. Specifically, after two deliveries they manufactured an issue with the vent pipe/alarm which they used as the basis to deny fuel service, and held us over a barrel in the winter requiring us to spend $700 in unnecessary repairs. For the first two oil deliveries, we were not moved in yet and were not present to witness the delivery. On the 2nd delivery, the driver noted that he couldn't hear the vent alarm, and therefore the pipes need to be extended. If on the next delivery there were issues with the vent alarm, it was our intention to have that resolved; but up to that point we had not witnessed the deliveries and had no opportunity to verify the issue is real. A tech that came out agreed, but when we called to schedule that next delivery we were told they cannot deliver because we hadn't paid the $700 to remedy the issue. We spoke to a number of people from Leffler, and each made it clear that they would not deliver oil. Multiple attempts to resolve this matter were unsuccessful, which left us no choice but to have another company deliver fuel, and I was able to hear the vent alarm clearly and there were no problems when another company made a delivery. Upon contacting Leffler, they still were not able to consider the possibility that they made an error. Instead they stated we would be billed an early termination fee, and they have since been trying to collect.
