In August 2023 I entered into an agreement with ABC Nanny Source to find a nanny for my infant. On the business' website they claimed to be "selective and discerning" of "each and every candidate" in addition to promising candidates have "adequately demonstrated their qualifications..in terms of experience and... safety measures" and their candidate's are "meticulously screened" and "thoroughly vetted". My family was sent 3 videos of different candidates. We thought we would be able to interview our top choice but we were informed by ********************* (owner/counselor) that we needed to hire the candidate first. We paid ABC Nanny $7,207.20 and agreed to pay the candidate an additional $4,400 per mo. We were told the candidate had 6 years of experience as a nanny. Within a few weeks of hiring the candidate, it was clear she had no recent experience with infants, she couldn't read hunger cues, didn't understand sleep training, or possess many of the other skills claimed in her resume. When we communicated our frustrations with ****/owner ABC Nanny Source, she encouraged patience but also told us that we could hire a new nanny. We asked if we could interview the new nanny to ensure they actually had experience; however, we were told that we had to hire them first. Again we received a few of resumes for new candidates. All the resumes contained significantly less experience than the first nanny we hired; however, we were told we had to pay the same amount ($4400 per mo) regardless of how little experience the nannies had. **** claimed this was the industry standard. We chose an applicant whose resume said she had experience with tummy time and developing infant's motor skills. When we "hired" the candidate, she said she did not know what tummy time was nor what motor skills were. We believe ABC Nanny falsifies the resumes based on the families' stated desires and sends wholly unqualified candidates. This is fraudulent and UNSAFE and we would like a full refund.
