      My father passed away on July 10, 2024, a Navy Veteran. He has a small *** account with approx. $3,500 in it. I have been trying to obtain this money for months, each time presented with another obstacle by the bank. After fulfilling the requirements, I was promised the funds would be released on October 21, 2024, this has not occurred. I am a surviving child and executor of the estate, the bank has been provided with all the details and continue to drag their feet.

      The individual named in the letter provided the bank with the EIN/Short Certificate and Death certificate, naming him as executor,on September 20th,2024 for his father who had passed away. The banker assisting informed the client there is a different process on how to properly process an *** CD with no named beneficiary. Initially the beneficiary was his mother, however, she passed in 2017, and no updated beneficiary was named on the *** account by the owner. Client was informed that the banker would need to complete research, and gain support on how to properly assist his request.  Banker was provided guidance and direction to assist with the request.  The informant was in the branch on October 9th, 2024,requesting to close his father *** account and informed the team member that he will be away for an extended period (3 weeks) of time, and the expectation was set that we would complete and support the request for the *** distribution upon his return.  Client was contacted on 11/4/2024, to support his request of the *** ******************* On November 6, 2024, the client needed to return, and sign corrected *** ************ paperwork as incorrect interest was calculated, client returned to sign the necessary paperwork.

      Mauch chunk trust keeps allowing identity theft to my account. I am disabled and on a limited income. Every month mauch chunk trust somehow finds a way to take my money blame me for the false transactions and then charges me for all the fees. Not only are they stealing my money but then make me pay it back with all there irreversible fees. This financial facility is a scam and should be shut down. How many other disabled persons are being taken over and stolen from.

      The basis of the complaint was that Mr. ****** indicated that MCT finds a way to take his money, blame him for the false transactions and charges him fees.

       

      Research shows

      Client filed a dispute on 10/6/22, this claim included twelve transactions and after research was completed claim was denied, client was informed of the decision and what the outcome of that wasclient was issued refunds from the merchants.  On 3/5/24 client filed another claim, claim was denied, client was informed of the decision and what the outcome of the claim was: client was issued refund from the merchant.

       

      During a review of his account and claim filing in March 2024 client was questioned:  Did client provide or give out personal information to someone such as SS #, Name, DOB, client responded YES.  Also asked did client share online user ID /password with anyone, including a spouse or family member, client responded YES.  The bank moved forward with closing clients account, completed an ID theft affidavit, restricted online access, and provided him with an ID theft booklet, a full balance hold was placed on the account and a new account was opened, funds were transferred to a new account.

       

      A new account was opened in March 2024, the client received direct deposit credit into the account on the first of each month.  Most recent activity, July 2024, the client has/had multiple POS transactions, recurring POS transactions, ACH payments and checks posting to his account along with ATM withdrawal on the day credit is received, causing account to be overdrawn.  Fees are assessed per MCT Fee schedule that had been provided to the client on the day the account was opened: including and not limited to return item charge, daily overdraft charge.  Client received 2 courtesy service charge reversals totaling $70; one on July ******* and another on August 1, 2024.  Client closed his account on August 1, 2024.
