July 03, 2024 we hired company to do bathroom renovation. Work done is not satisfactory. We the customer, performed the gutting& debris removal of old bathroom& fixtures. We provided tub/shower faucet, sink faucet& sink/vanity set, toilet/seat combo, mirror medicine chest, light fixture with wall switch& exhaust fan assembly. We provided flooring product suggested by contractor. We paid contractor for tub& surround combo he had on hand. We also did the painting of the bathroom including the trim pieces. We reused the existing window and door.Contractor work commenced August 02, 2024 and was finished August 15, 2024. Contractor supplied wiring, plumbing, drywall, trim& all other supplies not specified to be bought by customer. Contractor performed wiring to our specs. Contractor plumbed in all fixtures to accommodate new drains& fixtures. Work performed by contractor not worth the money we paid. Ceiling light fixture appears to be glued onto ceiling instead of placed in using the existing hardware it came with. We are not sure exactly where the exhaust fan is vented to. We did have contractor come back within two weeks to add the sink drain vent to eliminate the gurgling that was present during any type of drain usage either the sink, toilet or tub. The trim around window and door not flush to the edge of the wall. Window is missing window seal. Trim on front bottom of tub put on backward with store upc code facing out. There is no cornerbead around the surround of the tub as should be when placing the tub& surround for mudding of the drywall, The drywall is now cracking in spots. There is a bowing in the wall to the left of window, which is clearly visible. There appears to be no sub floor put in as the flooring is separating from each other between the toilet& sink. The vanity mirror& sink are connected to the wall without any spacing. It was never dry fitted. Transition from hallway to bathroom not fit properly. White calking instead of clear.Business Response

Contractor did do job between 8/2/24 - 8/15/24 to accommodate customer to be in home home prior to start of school year for their daughter. Contractor did go over Contract with customer more than once to make sure they understood everything to be completed, Customer agreed to all things to be completed. Contractor also made the accommodation for their job by re-arranging other customers. Contractor was asked to return to fix things and did so. We are unsure of why Customer chose to wait almost a whole year from job start and to file a complaint against us instead of calling Contractor to discuss any issues, which we would have been more than happy to resolve for them with no hard feelings. We have no problem with helping them out with their complaints.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 23461978, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
We were informed by the Contractor that they had vacations planned and could not start our project till August 2024. The defects in the work did not immediately appear, such as the floor coming apart. The missing cornerbead needed around the tub as the drywall is separating from the tub and surround. Why the trim around window and door stop before meeting edge of wall. Why there was never a window sill put back on window. Why every surface has visible white caulk. Why the sink/vanity combo and medicine chest are squeezed into the corner and were never dry fitted. Why is there a bow in the wall. Why is the drywall around the light switch obviously not finished. Light fixture glued or caulked to ceiling. Yes contractor addressed the drain vent. We paid them half up front and the work seemed to go down hill despite their claims that all would be done proper when finished. My health issues caused the delay in our response.

When the Contractor went out to do the Initial Estimate for customer, customer was asked what timeframe they were looking to have the job done. They told us they had a limited window to get in the home prior to start of school year for their daughter. Contractor explained that we were currently booked solid at present time. Contractor also informed customer that Contractor had a planned vacation for beginning of August 2024, but that we would start job the day after Contractor returned. Contractor also while on vacation moved around several other jobs already scheduled to accommodate customer needs for time-frame of the job. Customer was in complete agreement & knowledge of vacation & start date with no issues. Customer did call Contractor within 2 weeks to address a concern, Contractor took care of concern that customer had with no issues. While Contractor understands that issues may arise after a job I s completed, customer should then call Contractor back again li n to address concerns. Customer did pay half up front prior to job commencement & remaining balance at end of job per policy of company. Customer was made aware of that at Initial estimate which they were fine with. Per customer comment stating " work seemed to go downhill despite claim that all would be done proper when finished," at no time during the job being completed, did customer ever make any mention of having any concerns or Contractor would have addressed it. When job was finished, Contractor does as policy & collected remainder of balance. After job was done, Contractor never heard anything more from Customer until this complaint was filed. While Contractor does feel for any health issues customer may have, which already were relayed to Contractor at the initial estate, it still could have been resolved for the customer a lot sooner if Contractor received a phone call. As we stated in our 1st response to complaint, we would have been more than happy to return & address the concerns customer had. Customer, for whatever reason rejected the offer. We are now in our 2nd response to complaint, offering to return yet again to address and fix any issues. The Contractor feels we did the job correctly and proper. Thank youCustomer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 23461978, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. As evidenced in said pictures, there are a myriad of things that need addressed. When will the contractor be available to come assess what needs fixed and when can work commence? As for the jobs they state they moved around while on one of said vacations, that is not the customers concern what a private individual does when they go on vacation. This was never mentioned to us till this response through the BBB and this complaint ID 23461978. The schedule conflict they mention was never part of any of our conversations with them. While sitting at our kitchen table we were told by Jason, that they could not start till August due to vacations planned. End of discussion and we moved on after stating that would cut it close to school starting but were assured by Jason all would be well.
As for us rejecting an offer of the contractor to come and address and fix any issues any concerns we have stemming from the initial filing of this complaint ID 23461978, this is the first written response of contractor offering to address and fix the issues. We did not reach out till June 2025 due to my health issues (Wanda). My health issues make life very difficult and challenging and unfortunately sometimes life stops for us till I am able to focus on life other than my health. So, yes we did not reach out till this filing as we wanted to proceed the correct way.

After moving into our home, we noticed flooding in the garage when it stormed so we hired the company who installed our furnace and air conditioning last year to do some additional projects since we were very satisfied with the work that was previously done. Prior to deciding a solution to the problem, we discussed our options and went with the solution provided by the company since we trusted their professional advice. Company was hired to install a drain and sump pump to the garage to prevent flooding. Originally was finished a day early but incomplete and came the following day to complete the project since the sump pump originally drained in the foundation of the garage. The project was complete but the pipe that was attached to the drain became loose and needed to be repaired. Temporary fix to the pipe came loose after heavy rain and was addressed to the company. After addressing that the repair did not fix the problem, we were accused of attacking them and the issue that was addressed was taken personally. The overall quality of the repair did not provide a long term solution and additional repairs would be needed to be sustainable. We have been accused of taking advantage of the company simply for expecting to have a professional solution to what we originally hired them for. After reaching out back and forth we received no further response with the impression that this will not be resolved. Attached are photos from the detached pipe and the email communication as well as the original contract.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Thank you for your response. We are willing to work together to resolve the issues that were addressed. We would like for the pipe that was installed to be fixed with a permanent solution to prevent from coming loose in the future and to ensure that we know where the water from the sump pump is draining to. In addition, we would like to know how to properly clean the drain grate that was installed at the end of the driveway since the grate that was installed does not appear to come out to clean the debris.
