On March 4th, after recieving calls about a debt in collections, thinking it was a scam I ignored the calls from an unknown number but one day I took a chance and was connected to an agent who stated it WAS NOT a scam and a company that was owed payment (Maybe a hospital) had an amount of $303.95 due. After making a payment arrangement, final payment made on March 29 in the amount of $203.95, a confirmation letter with ALL the info on the debt was suppose to have been emailed or mailed to me. I have yet to recieve it and recieved NO reply back by phone. I have no choice but to upgrade this to a formal complaint as this is an unexplained transaction with NO confirmation of payment IN FULL documentation was recieved!

I received a call from someone named ***************************** from p# *************. She told me I needed to call this ************* & give reference# ****** because I have a bill that is owed. And if I didnt call, she was gonna take my tax return & garnish my paychecks. I called & spoke w/ someone name ******************* at ext 103. He stated, I had a loan in the amount of $750, from a company named Zoca Loans. He also said, its a payday loan from 2019. **** said, with all the interest the loan is now $3000. Am like, WHAT!!! I told him, I didnt know about any payday loans! And Im quite sure, u have the wrong person. This guy had ALL my information, where I used to live, my workplace info, telephone #s, etc. After being on the phone for an hour+. I thought, maybe I do have something out there that i dont remember! I started negotiating this bill! He put me on hold several times! Stated hes negotiating with the lawyer. I asked, whats the lawyers name? Bill stumbled. Thats what made me more skeptical about this whole situation! But this guy was so nice and reassured me! He is/ was very believable! Therefore, I made the arrangements to pay off this bill. The agreement/ arrangement was to pay $166.61 biweekly (every pay period). Im telling this guy, Im not quite sure about this. I asked this man is this phone call being recorded. He replied, yes. I said, okay good! Because Im recording it as well. After making the arrangements. I was transferred to the so-called lawyer (dont remember his name) and lastly, transferred to one lady who took my debit card information. I said to the young lady, you know, I work too hard for my money and this is scamming season. I pray that this isnt a scam. The young lady replied, I dont know what they do up therejust take payment info. The 2nd payment, I tried getting in contact with them to let them know, I WILL NOT be paying Januarys payment. I didnt have nor remember Alliance phone#. So, I Googled- Alliance Recovery. The person that came to the phone said, youre not in our system. Im like, sir, I made a payment to you guys on this date! The man double check & said, no, youre not in our system. Thats when I realized. Ive been scammed. I went to my bank. Reported it. They cut up my bank card and I never heard anything from those people again. But my father called to tell me. Someone from Alliance is calling him and his wife and I must call them. I contacted my lawyer and he said, first of all any real business do not call family members and friends. They will call any numbers they have on file for the individual and they would also communicate through Mail. I have not received anything in the mail, nor have I ever heard of these people. I was told not to answer anymore of their calls and just ignore them. But my question to the BBB is is this a reputable company?
