My vehicle was parked at the ********************** on ******************** in a parking space where the apartment complex staff claims it to be a loading zone. The parking space was not a loading zone which has not been marked as so. The space next to it was considered a loading zone, but not where the rental vehicle was parked. The river plaza apartment had the vehicle towed to Cameron Street towing company in which I had to pay $260 for them, towing illegally towing the vehicle that was illegally towed. Photos show that there is no sign posted at the location the vehicle was as REQUIRED by the state of ************ to show clear sign of loading zone, which was not marked as required by the state of **.

To whom this may concern in response to the complaint regarding *** ******. Attached are also our before photos and the vehicle and position in question/ concern. We are a third party providing a service to the address listed. Not included are our signs with name and phone number but the area of complaint is attached. The customers vehicle was noted internal notes from 10:07 at the first sighting to 10:52. She believes she wasnt in the loading zone but if you take a look at all 3 angles she was within the yellow hashes. The enclosed space that she was parked in is not a spot. It is yellow and has a line behind and beside encasing the whole loading area. Similar to a fire lane or in front of a hydrant. If you look to the right the regular parking has white lines with no end line behind. As her photos show, ours do as well the sign that is on the hand rail that shows 30 minute parking. This particular location is not our only patrol lot and the driver returned when he could. When the private property signs their contract they set the rules and we tow per their requests. The designated area is already there before our service started. Also take note the customers address is not the same as apartment building as they do not live there possibly, recommendation would be to get clarity of parking rules if moving in and going to continue to park there. The tow was correct per the contract and a refund will not be issued as requested.

     Complaint: 22878289

I am rejecting this response because: I understand that you are a vendor of the apartment complex. However, as it was pointed out by you, the address on my information is out of state. As a visitor of a tenant, I had permission to park in the apartment property. I was staying with my mother to take her for her knee surgery and care for her for a few days, which I explained this to the apartment complex and Cameron Towing. The day your company towed the vehicle was the same day of my mothers surgery. Because of the lack of warning and/or posted signages it is easy for a visitor, as me, to park there.

According to the PA Loading zone requirement:
    - Private Parking: Code ******* - Posting of private parking lots. (a) General. Posting of private property, including parking lots, giving notice to the public of parking restrictions as required by 75 Pa

    - Warning Signs: Warning signs (usually diamond-shaped with black symbols or words on a yellow background) are used to alert drivers to potential hazards or changes in roadway conditions, including the presence of a loading zone.

    - Regulatory Signs: Regulatory signs (e.g., "No Parking," "Loading Zone") are used to inform road users of traffic laws or regulations and indicate the applicability of legal requirements.
Because the parking space did not include any signs related to a loading zone, I feel that my vehicle was wrongfully towed. The loading zone sign was to the other side of the space, and the space my vehicle was in had no indication of restrictions. Therefore, I would like for you to reimburse the tow fees plus the **** fee.

    Regards,

    *** ******

Cameron Street Towing illegally towed my vehicle 9/19/2023. The vehicle is a 2018 ************ ****. While hooking up the vehicle, I was arriving back home in a friends car and asked how much it was to let the vehicle down and the tow driver blatantly ignored me and drove off with vehicle fully intending to keep it to gain additional fees from holding vehicle overnight. Vehicle was parked legally at home of the co-owner where it has been frequently parked in the past year. Complaint was filed with the PA  Attorney General on 9/20/2023 in which the business has responded and claimed to have no record of the vehicle and needed more information. Additional information on the vehicle was provided and Attorney General received no further response.

On 10/25 my car was towed from my apt building despite my car being registered to my apartment. When I called Cameron street towing, I was unable to get my car same day because they told me they were closing at 2:30pm. When I asked how much to get my car out they told me 320, cash only, no major credit cards. When I asked if they would wave the storage fee they agreed, and let me get my car for 260, a 60$ fee. When we went to get my car this morning, there were no posted prices and they would not give an itemized bill.

On 8/8/2023 I was at ******************. My mother lives there. I have a parking pass to be there. And I also was helping unload my mother as she was weak due to cancer **. They towed my car with a sticker on for permission to park. And they left my 4 ways on and killed my battery. Really? I am allowed to park there. I tried to call and there is no one to reach. And I cannot believe that they would be this uncaring to tow a car that has a parking sticker in the back window. Unreal. I want reimbursed for my new battery and my car back!!!!

To who it may concern, towing for illegally parking is not pleasant. This individual clearly parked in a tow away zone, and therefore was towed. Its unfortunate that there four way flashers were on, our company rule is, we are not allowed to break into a customers car to turn the flashers off. ( this would make the battery discharge and certainly would not ruin the battery, unless the battery was at the end of its life) We towed this car around 11 pm for being parked in a clearly marked tow away zone. This individual went to ****, the property manager, and demanded that they not pay for the towing. When i spoke with **** by Phone, she said she told the individual, they were parked illegally, and they were going to pay  for the towing.

      respectfully *************************

Cameron Street towing is involved in the predatory practice of towing cars without there being a reason to tow the car. My aunt was visiting my residence and parked where guests always park and the tow truck was "patrolling" and towed the car. Didn't bother to attempt to ask the residents if it was a guest, nor did they even know how long the car was parked for. It is posted at the front of our parking lot that the lot is for residents, GUESTS, and service workers. After we flagged down the tow truck and explained that they weren't towing her for a valid reason, the worker refused to unload the car and insisted that they follow them down to Cameron St and pay $260 to get the car back. This is ridiculous. She was a guest at my residence and shouldn't have been towed in the first place. There is no one in their office to pick up the phone.

      Hello,

      to whom it may concern;

we would be glad to respond to this question, we will need to know the year make and model of this customers car, and a license plate number or the last six numbers of the vin number. We do have a legal contract and signs posted at the entrances of each street of this neighborhood, and were hired by the owner of the property to remove illegally parked cars. So if you could kindly provide the license plate number, we could respond to the complaint.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the business is requesting more info and no resolution was suggested.

The car was a 2003, ***** ****** with the licenseplate *******, we can supply the receipt if necessary. After discussing guest parking with, ********************* LLC and looking through their rules for parking, ********'s car did not violate any of their rules. As Progress Ave is not wide enough for guest parking, they agreed that where ********'s car was parked was the most logical spot for guest parking.

We did provide evidence of signage that states guests and service vehicles may park on the street. We can submit that again if necessary. As ******** comes to the house to clean it she qualifies as both.

We are still requesting a refund for the $260 we had to pay to get the car back.

    Regards,

To who it may concern, it is unfornate when a car gets towed. Please find attached photo of the vehicle in question. It is clearly not in a parking space and creates a hazard to other cars enter or leaving this parking area. Cameron street parking enforcement has a legally binding contract with this property for parking enforcement. This car is in clear violation and is not parked in a parking spot.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: it still does not offer resolution.

On this street all parking spots are assigned to townhouses, as both my husband and I were home, both of our spots were being used. The company you have your contract with (** ** ****) said this is where guests or service vehicles would have to park on our street because it is not safe to park on ******** *** by our street. The car is NOT obstructing anything as there is plenty of room for both mine and my husband's cars to back out as you can clearly see in your own photo. We have already discussed ** *. **** and the HOA painting lines and turning the cut out into guest spaces, since they are frequently used by our neighbors as well. There is no curb, no obstruction, there was no reason to tow as the bylaws we were given from ** ** **** does not require the car to be in a marked spot, only a designated parking area, which it is, since the street sign allows for guests and service vehicles. I have included a screen shot of the rules.

    Regards,

I am a current resident of public housing on ******* ****** in Harrisburg PA. I have had continous issue's with this said towing company. They prey on individuals that they know will pay to have there vehicle retrieved from the towing lot. this is at least the 5th time they have towed my vehicle. this particular time I was parked in a legal spot my inspection expired on 03/31/2023. I received my emission's sticker yesterday morning which was was on my windshield expiration date of 04/30/2024 the mechanic ran out of yearly inspections stickers and advised me to return in the morning on 4/5/2023 to have my other sticker placed on the windshield. yesterday evening Cameron Street Towing towed my car. I called the police the officer explained that I had 30 days to get an inspection this is state law. However Cameron street towing took this upon there selves to make money again on the poor and disadvantaged to tow my car once again! this is ongoing and I am filing a formal complaint that they are fraudulently towing peoples cars. Just last week I pulled up to the side of the building to unload groceries by myself with my special needs son who is only 4 years old I was getting him into the house and unloading groceries when about 8-10 minutes later they hooked an towed my car. This is non stop I am in contact with housing as they are using there contractual abilities to fraudulently tow individuals cars to make money for there business.

We received your letter regarding this alleged complaint today 4/11/23 in the mail. I would like to help resolve this and give an appropriate response but I will need some more information. We do private parking enforcement for a lot of companies and residences. The lots that we service make up the rules that they would like us to enforce and we are hired to do a job. Unfortunately not always a well appreciated job but if the private lot wasn't having issues we wouldn't be there. We do follow all posted legal guidelines. If the person was in the wrong, almost every time there is photos for proof and if we do make mistakes we do honor a return.

For me to look up this particular complaint I will need the address from where the vehicle was taken from and a vin number so I can search our system and locate the correct vehicle.
