I am filing this complaint against Chesaco RV *******************************************************, Hamburg, PA *****, regarding my attempt to purchase an RV. I paid a $900 deposit on June 29, 2025, based on representations about the RVs features, condition, legality, warranty, and financing. Before taking delivery, I discovered serious discrepancies that materially changed the agreement.Key Issues: Exterior speakers inoperable. Both refrigerators 120V only, despite being told and seeing online that one was 3-way/12V capable. 12V system failed within minutes without shore power. RV not inspected and could not be legally operated. Loan rates/terms changed repeatedly in finance office. Warranty misrepresented told all campers have 30-day coverage, yet paperwork stated AS IS.The RV sat on their lot for nearly two weeks before pickup, yet issues were not addressed and no inspection was done. On arrival, no inspector was on-site, yet I was told to sign all purchase paperwork before inspection I refused. I was also required to sign a non-refundable deposit addendum before the walkthrough, without reviewing or signing purchase/loan contracts. The sale never progressed due to these issues, so no transaction was finalized.Financing: No loan paperwork was signed. I was told my loan was approved, yet the finance manager altered terms and rates multiple times. My local bank could not locate the dealers approved loan.Warranty: Told verbally of a 30-day warranty, but presented with AS IS terms. Finance officer confirmed warranty verbally but never documented it.When I requested a refund, the dealership refused, citing non-refundable despite misrepresentation. Multiple written requests were ignored; the ** insisted on phone calls only.M&T Bank Case #: ********

    Business Response

    Date: 09/19/2025

Mr. ***** was fully aware of the used vehicle that he was purchsing and the 30-day warranty.  He did sign the non-refundable agreement and was fully aware he would not be given a refund if the term were met.  Mr. ***** also tried to dispute his credit card charges and was denied by the credit card company.  The documents are all attached.

I am rejecting this response because:

Rebuttal to Dealers Response BBB Case

I strongly disagree with the dealerships statement that my refusal to accept the camper was buyers remorse. This is false and misleading. I fully intended to purchase, provided the down payment on my credit card, signed the buyers order documents, obtained loan approval through M&******, purchased insurance on the unit, and drove 1.5 hours each way cutting short a family vacation to take delivery on the date and time the dealership scheduled.

The reason I refused delivery is simple: the dealership failed to deliver the camper as represented or in legally ready condition.
    At delivery:
Service staff admitted they already knew the speakers did not work and had failed to notify me.
The battery was dead and could not hold a charge, preventing full system testing.
The camper had not undergone Pennsylvania state inspection at all. I was told inspection could not be completed that day or even until the following week, meaning the unit was not legally ready for delivery.
The heater had never been pre-tested; when I tested it, it failed due to the dead battery.
The refrigerator was misrepresented multiple times: I was told verbally it was 12v, the dealers website listed it as a 3-way (12v/120v/propane), and their RV Trader listing also stated 3-way. In reality, it was 120v only. I provided screenshots of both ads as proof.
*********************** manipulated loan terms, presenting higher payments and attempting to change M&T Banks rates/length without confirmation. I was told if they could not meet or beat the quoted monthly payment, I would receive a refund.
A 30-day warranty was promised verbally, but later I was told the camper was as-is unless I bought an extended warranty. Nothing was provided in writing.
Despite my full commitment, the dealership refused to proceed unless I provided a down payment (already charged), while presenting a defective, uninspected, and misrepresented unit.

After leaving, I waited 48 hours for confirmation the issues would be corrected. No response came. Only 24 hours after I emailed requesting a refund did the dealership contact me long after they were already in breach.

This is not buyers remorse. This is misrepresentation and failure to deliver under Pennsylvania law.

The Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law (73 P.S. 201-2(4)(vii), (xxi))makes it unlawful to represent goods as a particular quality when they are not, and to engage in deceptive conduct likely to cause confusion.
37 Pa. Code ***** (Automotive Trade Practices) prohibits misleading sales presentations, including failing to deliver a vehicle in the represented condition and readiness. Delivering an RV without a completed state inspection is a direct violation.

Regarding the dealerships BBB response: they claimed my credit card company denied my dispute. This is also false. As of today, I have not been notified of any denial, and to my understanding the credit card dispute remains under active investigation.

    Conclusion:
I was prepared to purchase in full, and the dealership failed to deliver the camper in legal and working condition. Their repeated claim of buyers remorse is false, and their statement about my credit card dispute is untrue. I respectfully ask that the BBB record reflect the true facts: this was a breach of contract and misrepresentation, not a change of mind.

In addition, given the misrepresentations and the fact that the unit was offered for delivery without a Pennsylvania state inspection, I am prepared to file a complaint with the *****************************************************************;so their business practices can be reviewed further.

    Regards,

    ***** *****

My husband and I purchased a ***************** from ChesacoRv on 2/1/25. We live in ******** and the dealership is in ************. It has been 4 months and we still have not received tags for our motorhome. We continue to call the dealership almost daily and are getting no where. Half the time ****, the general manager tells us he will check into it and call us back within a certain time frame and he fails to follow-up. We are ready to go camping, but are unable to since our temp tags are expired and apparently PA does not extend temp tags. Additionally, we have already gotten it MD inspected and the inspection is only good for 90 days. If we do not get the MD tags soon, we will have to pay for another inspection!! The communication and customer service has been absolutely awful!

1)Sold us a used RV which they had sold when new, and didnt disclose known and pertinent information that was germane to the sale and/or to long term ownership.a.Catalytic convertor had been stolen, replaced with non-original equipment, and therefore not covered by warranty, but did apparently have its own warranty had we known about it.b.Heating/AC system for cab (chassis system) was not functional, and took over a year to solve the issue 2)After driving off the lot the window seal came off, they told me to replace it and they would reimburse me, havent been reimbursed to date for the just under $500 repair 3)Sold us a third party warranty which we recently found out is not a third party but an owned company of theirs. When trying to get warranty coverage it has been denied every time until we found this out. Then miraculously they covered that repair, but have not covered all other repairs brought during the period.4)Other items, including the manager of the location lying to us, and the *** covering that up and not returning calls.

Mr. ******** purchased a used RV.  Any RV that is used is sold as is.  The coach was treated like every other used motorhome we sell and inspected appropriately. Additionally, the catalytic converter that was installed on his coach did have the same warranty as a **** catalytic converter.  When the customers catalytic converter failed after about 20k miles, he took it to **** and authorized a replacement of the catalytic converter with a new one from **** and paid for it out of pocket. He authorized this repair without attempting to contact the company Hot Exaust who made the catalytic converter that was on it and file a warranty claim with them. He also never called us here at the dealership prior to authorizing the repair. After he paid for the repair, he called us trying to get us to reimburse him.  We did attempt to collect the information from him that would be necessary to file a claim with Hot Exaust, but he was unable to supply any invoices, complaint cause corrections, pictures or the part itself.  So, we were not able to submit any claims on his behalf.  We spoke to him many times requesting an invoice for the repair which he was never able to provide. He said on multiple occasions that it had been repaired, but he hadnt paid for it yet and he would provide the invoice when he received it. The ** of the Pennsylvania store and the Director have both spoken to Mr. ******** on multiole occasion explaning this.  Mr. ******** made the decision to pay out of pocket for the repair.  The repair was never authorized by anyone at Chesaco RV.  Had the customer taken the steps with the manufacturer of the catalytic converter, he might have had coverage.  However, that would be between the customer and the manufacturer of the catalytic converter.

Bought a new 2021 ****** camper on 9/21 first time we used it was on 5/22 setting up the water pump leaked called and was told had to take it to dealer to get fixed bought new water pump with my own money and installed myself a little while later water heater started leaking shut water heater off and finished camping got back home and called dealer every time I called the person wasn’t there or he had off that day I called every day of the week and was told the same thing every time finally my fiancé called and talked to someone on 9/22 and was told to bring camper down on 10/24/22 to be inspected and fixed and to be reimbursed for the water pump I bought got to dealer to drop it off and nobody was they and had no idea i was bringing it down they finally talked to the GM and he told them what it was there for. We didn’t hear anything from them so I stopped down and was told that they looked at it and was waiting for a part which is a lie because the part they’re waiting for isn’t on the inside of the camper. My fiancé called them and was told nobody is there they all went to a rv show. The water heater and pump is still under warranty and they don’t want to repair or replace

We are currently working on *** ********’s RV.   We have submitted a claim for a faulty water heater and pump.  As soon as we have approval from the warranty company, we can proceed with the repair.  It is not our decision whether or to these are covered under their warranty.   We need to follow certain steps so we can finish the repair.
