    I started working with Vander-Built in 2023 to have them install vinyl siding on my house. I received the original quote on 5/23/23 which totaled $15,382.49. 50% payment was required up front. I decided to use their services and requested to pay in batches of $2,500 (the only option was a lump sum) on 11/7/23. At first, they were willing to do this with no issue, however, on 12/7/23, they stated they updated the quote to reflect market prices.The increase was to $17,440.85, a *****% increase over 4 months following the expiration of the quote. I agreed to pay despite the fact that it seemed like price gouging as we had expressed difficulty finding contractors. I paid the required amount to move forward with the work on 1/9/24.After multiple emails asking for samples for color, size, thickness, etc. and lack of response or procrastination on their end, I finally received them on 2/13/24 and sent my decision on 2/20/24. Since then, they have promised multiple different start times, the first on being late March to early April. I have had to repeatedly email for updates as they continue to miss deadlines. Sometimes, they would not answer my emails for a month at a time, despite sending multiple follow **** At this point, they have been holding onto a large sum of my money for almost 7 months with still no movement on the project.
