I have attached two documents - one that is every charge *** charged on my credit card and one that is my statement of every service I received. *** charged my credit card $50 for every appointment/group I attended. My insurance paid for a majority of my treatment, including the groups I was charged for. I am owed approximately $1800.00 from ***. It has been 2+ months of going back and forth with ***. Each time I call, all I'm told is they are "working on it." I was told it would only take 45 days to receive my refund but it has now been well over 45 days. I have now been told two weeks in a row that I would receive it by the end of the week. I, of course, have not received it. I have no idea what to do at this point but I need my refund. This is A LOT of money to withhold from a person. I truly believe they are taking advantage of alcoholics and addicts. How many other people have they done this to? If I hadn't first noticed the charges were not correct, I truly believe they would have just kept my money.

In July of 2023, I made a down payment and set up a payment schedule with Recovery Centers of America so that my husband could be admitted. At the time, the down payment and payment plan was based on our deductible and I was told that if the insurance company paid the full amount, I would be reimbursed. I paid a total of $1,300 and in March of 2024, while doing my taxes, I saw that the insurance company had in fact paid the claim in full since his hospital stay prior to being admitted to *** met the deductible. My first call to them to say that they owed me a refund was on 3/20/24. I called again on 4/18, 5/7, 6/20, 7/9, 7/12, 7/22, 8/6, & 8/12 with no resolution. My call on 7/9 informed me that I had been refunded the money. I told them I hadn't and if they did refund the money, they should have proof they can forward to me. Either records showing a wire transfer to my checking account or a cleared check. I also complained that ******, the service they use to collect payments, still showed and even today, still shows that I have an outstanding balance of $5,624 which they have not cleared. I would like to have my full $1,300 in payments refunded to me, as the insurance company paid the full claim. I have attached a statement from the insurance company that shows the total amount of the claim with a column that says "My Cost" which shows $0 for the transactions with ***, and a screen printout from ****** that shows the payments I made and the balance it says is still outstanding.

Dear Ms. ******************** style="font-size: 0.875rem;">Having received your BBB complaint I looked into the matter.  I found that the refund of $1,300 was approved some time ago.  I asked of proof of payment and our records indicate that while the refund was approved, it has not cleared our accounts.  I want to apologize for the misstep that caused a delay in your refund.  I have requested the refund be processed expeditiously.  Because it has been sometime since the original request, we have to cut a check and mail it to you.  The refund is being sent to the ****************** address listed in this complaint.  If this is not the correct address or if you have not received it in 7-10 days please reach out to me directly at ************** so I may personally follow up and make sure you receive it.

Again I apologize for the delay.

    Sincerely,
