    I bought a 2012 Jeep Liberty from Barneys Auto Center on 5/13/2025 at his business. I test drove the car and found out it doesnt blow hot air. ***** the owner told me he would fix it. He called me the next day that he fixed it. He told me he flushed the heater coil. When I checked there was a check engine light on. I. Went back into his shop and told him. He cam out with a handheld diagnostic reader. He told me the check engine light will come on and he cleared it. I believed him and left. In a couple days the check engine cam on again while driving it stopped at ********* for them to see why. They told me a code po300 which showed a misfire from cylinder 6. He told me to try to replace the spark plugs my brother in law replaced that and the coil pack and all spark plug wires. My son replaced the thermostat and temperature sensor. They cleared it. A couple days later the check engine light came on back on again. The same code came on. We replaced all spark plugs and cleared again. Check engine light came back on with the same code. We put in 3 coil packs. Check engine light was cleared but came right back on. I called 2 jeep dealer here in *********** **. They confirmed the flushing of the heater coil would of not make the check engine light on. They said it sounds like a head gasket number 6 is blown. I told them what ***** from Barneys told me they both stated he lied to me. When his hand held diagnostic reader it showed code P0300 6 cylinder misfire on the car history and it showed on ours too. I tried to call ***** but no answer on 6/19/2025. I finally got hold of him and told him the situation, he hung up on me, I was very polite and not yelling. So I guess he thinks he didnt do anything wrong

    In feb, i took my SUV for routine maintenance (oil, tire rotation, rear diff fluid change). picked it up after work and the exhaust system now has a blown gasket. I get that happens and cars are only machines, but too many issues to buy that.He deliberately LIED to me, when the following week I said I wantd to review the bill with him, he said he was closed. I had other friends call and he was OPEN every single day. THEN when I got home, I was leaking oil. I have stains on my garage floor and have informed him i did my best to get it up,does he have suggestions or wanna clean it up himself, since somebody there caused the leak? I'm not losing a 2K security deposit on somebody elses ignorance or stupidity.THEN he charged me $85 to hook up to the diagnostic computer, and I said why? I never asked/authorized him to, nor was a 'check engine' lite or anything of that nature indicating a problem. HE told me that the charge was a mistake, should've only been $45 to "clear the oil thing" tell the engine oil is good. I have NEVER heard of this BS charge, nor have I ever done that b4 for an oil change. HE said he'd refund me the difference. still have seen nothing.I recently texted him (everything is in writing at this point) about never getting the refund, nor discussing THEE biggest issue. he charged me two hours of labor to change the rear diff fluid. According to FIVE different ***** delearships, it should take ***** minutes, 45 minutes ABSOLUTE TOPS. Why is such an experienced mechanic that slow on a routine task? I realize I will never see a ***** back from him, but I hope this review saves somebody else the trouble. F-, NEVER return.

    My car had a code being thrown, so I took it in and told them what was wrong. They did not fix it, but did some other stuff and charged me a good bit. Well the check engine light came back on immediately. I took the car back in, and the owner told me he would fix it. A week later and a lot of money later it was "fixed". After a day the light came back on, the owner Barney said he would pay for the part and just take it somewhere else. I did, I never received the payment even though the garage called him, I showed him receipts, and talked to him multiple times. He just always gave me the run around. I payed this guy over 600 and he never fixed anything, and he lied to me. I would walk before I take my car here again. He should be shut down if he doesnt have the ability to run a shop.
