I agreed on a time and price for this contractor to install my newly purchased dishwasher and remove the old one. I was unable to be home at the time of the job--which was Friday, Nov. 18 around 12 noon. Contractor agreed that as long as someone was present to let him in, and I would be available to pay by email on completion of the job, all was fine. When he notified me he had finished, I paid $226.84 through the email system. Upon returning home the next day, I found multiple problems with the job. The biggest one is that the unit is not in straight, so the dishwasher door won't close unless one uses two hands and pushes in while lifting. The wood floor near the dishwasher was also gouged during the job and the top of the dishwasher door chipped. I emailed the contractor to raise these issues. He called me and told me that the minute he left the site, he bears no responsibility, and that because someone (a tenant who resides in my house) gave approval on the spot, the job is done and he will not address any of the problems. He told me that because he works for a multi-million dollar, bonded company, he doesn't care if I sue him or report him to the BBB. Then he hung up. I must therefore hire someone to re-install the dishwasher so that the door functions properly. I wanted this contactor simply to fix that problem, but he refuses. Thus I ask for a full refund.
