I had storm damage in April and a neighbor suggested I use a public adjuster and even recommended this company. This was the biggest mistake that I made. *********************** and his team moved hastily to get my business but doing the absolute minimum to keep it. If not for me checking in regularly, I would get absolutely no feedback. In fact, the only time he responds is when I complain about the progress they’re making. This is when he sends another email to someone that never I should responds. And because I signed with this company, the insurance company won’t talk to me so I’m basically in limbo. It’s been over four months and I haven’t gotten what I’m owed. This company has definitely dropped the ball and I cannot give a recommendation. In addition to them not being responsive, they’ve had the wrong claim number. The emails that are sent aren’t professionally written and have grammatical errors. They don’t have a business logo or signature. In my opinion, I could’ve done this on my own, and got results sooner. These people are guaranteed 20% regardless of what they do so far as I’m concerned there’s no reason for them to work hard because they’re going to get the money anyway. Whatever you do, do not use this company because the other person I referred is having the same issue. I should also mention that initially, **** wasn’t going to even be present when the adjuster from *********** came. After I complained, he rescheduled to a day that he’d be able to meet with them. SMH I almost forgot, **** was always on vacation or out and “will respond next week.” I let them know several times that I wasn’t satisfied with their service through emails. They never sent me a bill. They asked me to post date a check which I refused to do and now they’re trying to bully me by refusing to sign the check.

    Dear *** *****,

Public Adjusters Associates is responding to the above captioned compliant.

*** ******* had sustained hail damage on April 1, 2023, and hired Public Adjusters Associates on April 7, 2023. After *** ******* executed the contract, she received a completed copy.

We obtained her mortgage information from her insurance declaration page.

Our adjuster assessed the property damage and wrote an estimate. On April 19, 2023, our adjuster and insurance company field adjuster meet at the property location. We provided the insurance company adjuster with our estimate of damages.

On May 25, 2023, we received the *** *********** Insurance Company check in the amount of $ 9,623.01, which was an ACV payment. The insurance check was sent to the mortgage company. When the check was at the mortgage company that is when we found out the mortgage loan number was incorrect. The mortgage company sent the 1st check back to *** *******.

*** ******* was emailed a fee invoice based on the 1st insurance check. The fee invoice was signed and notarized by *** *******. On the invoice it states that payment is due. To this date we are still not paid on the 1st invoice.

As negotiations continued on the insurance claim. There was a final settlement reached in the amount of $ 13,400.00, check dated October 24, 2023 condition upon *** ******* agreeing to and signing the insurance company release for damages.

The 2nd check went to the mortgage company. The mortgage company sent the check back to *** *******.

PAA gave *** ******* 2 options to disburse the 2nd check.

Option 1 – Sign and give us the check and we will disburse from our office and take our fee owed to us from both checks.
Option 2 – Give us a postdated check for our fee from both insurance checks due.

Neither option was agreeable to *** *******.

    Regards,
    ****** *****

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

As you can see from the emails, I never refused to pay. What I said to them was, I assumed the same thing they did, which was at the end they would receive a lump sum payment. In none of the emails that you were sent  did they ask me for the $1900. I signed a notarized letter agreeing that I would pay $1900 before they sent me the check which I had always planned on paying. But as I stated, I assumed the whole amount would be paid at the end. I spoke with one of the staff named ********, who told me that they would send me, a bill for the total amount that I owed. There's something very questionable about a company that wants me to sign over a check to them when they never followed up with any additional request for payments. They have a signed contract that Entitles the money regardless of whether I agree with the decision or not. If I failed to pay them they are able to take me to court and get payment. No more no less. My house is worth over 300 and something thousand dollars, why would I want a lien on my property for $4600? Does that make any sense? I cant trust them because anyone not willing to follow a contract, has never sent a delinquent notice, never sent one email asking for payment is suspicious to me. Not to mention there have been reviews done on this company years prior to me getting involved with them and the person has the same complaint. These are not people that can be trusted. They have a legal contract guaranteeing them $4600 yet they're unwilling to execute it. That seems very strange.

    Regards,

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

They have a signed contract that can be enforced in court if I failed to pay. There's no reason for them not to sign the check. Failure to do so makes me think they have sinister motives.
