This issued occured on 9/18 - 9/28, We were to get a wheel repaired for $192 by WCC. The nature of the dispute is the damage they have caused to our original wheel by improperly repairing it, and not properly rectifying the situation as described below. They did refund the original $192, but in turn we have to buy a $700 wheel because they damaged our wheel. They have not tried to resolve the problem. I've copied and pasted a post I made on Social Media and  other outlets.  So everyone that comes to our shop knows we always do our best to provide quality repairs. After 10 plus years I recently had to find a new company to refinish damaged wheels. I found Wheel Collision Center in Bath and sent them our wheel to get repaired. Wheel Collision Center ended up improperly attempting to repair this wheel. They overcut the machine finish, which ended up damaging the wheel beyond repair. The pockets got smaller and the machine cut on the lip actually angled in instead of being straight. I expressed my concerns to ***** and he said he would get me another wheel. The other wheel arrived a few days later and once again was not a quality repaired wheel. The cutting process chipped the color in the pockets and was once again damaged beyond repair. ***** insists these are quality wheels, when you can obviously see in the photos they are not. After 2 attempts, and 1.5 Weeks of lost time we demanded they furnish us with a new wheel. He denied our request per the owner's direction. So now the vehicle owner had to incur the cost of a new wheel because they are incapable of performing quality repairs. That's not how you conduct business properly. They damaged a repairable wheel, they had 2 chances to make good and messed up, they owe a new wheel.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/04/2023

Hi, we are very sorry that the wheel repair/refinish wasn't acceptable to you.  And, as you mentioned we have refunded your charges in full.

Please note that a repaired and refinished wheel is not a new wheel; it is simply a (typically lower cost) alternative to purchasing a new wheel.  So, if you and/or your customer wants a new wheel vs. our repairing and reconditioning of your damaged wheel, we understand.  And, we did offer to help resolve your issue by discussing your wheel and our work with the insurance adjuster involved with this job, but you declined.

Again, we are sorry for the problem, but repairs are only a substitute for replacing with new.  However, they are not new.  For example, when you repair a core in your shop, when it's done, it's not a new car, but a professionally repaired car.  For most customers this is satisfactory where they are not attempting to get a new car, but simply a repaired car that is similar to new condition at a lower cost than new.
