This company since I moved to *************** ** has been sending me false tax statements trying to collect taxes for this area when I didn't even reside in this area. Are they not required to do their homework before sending out tax bills? Somehow they got my info when I moved to this area and started chasing for taxes in previous areas which I lived and paid my taxes via payroll. This company is a sham and a scam business with no accountability. I will be sending them bills for my time wasted responded to their false bills. How does this company remain in business? I'm trying to pay a $10 "local services tax". I've tried their website, which didn't work, and have sat on the phone for an hour. I tried the "call back" service but every time Berkheimer called back, the system didn't work when I kept pressing "1" to accept the call. This company is awful!!!!Review from Stacey S

Berkheimer is an incredibly shady business. I have received several bills for address I no longer live it and every time I file a correction with them they just respond with delinquent bills or "updated" bills for differing amounts still for the incorrect municipality. They just keep adding past due fees on these incorrect bills. I have reached out to them several times to correct my address, and even the Senator's office has reached out on my behalf. Yet they can't mange to get my address or bills correct. I don't understand how the PA government can employ this company.Review from Nathan R

Received a letter that i failed to fully pay local tax for previous year. I didnt question it. I sent the check with penalty and considered it done. Several weeks later i receive another letter regarding my return two years ago claiming i paid no tax on an income i clearly didnt make for a location i didnt live in at the time. Local governments can hire this company and absolve themselves of these problems while private companies can incorrectly bill you based on poor algorithms and garnish your wages if you dont take the time to prove them wrong.Review from Jennifer K

You would think Pennsylvania would have a better set up for local tax collectors. Nope, they chose this incompetent company. File taxes every year and send in my paperwork and w2 showing taxes were paid and every year I get a letter saying they weren’t filed. How are these idiots still in business? I just received (I believe) my second delinquent tax notice! Back in 2019 I received a letter from them for some delinquent service fees from 2017 and with their outrageous penalties I paid about $150 for an alleged 20 dollar fee. I paid it without question. And now SIX YEARS LATER I received another letter!!! Claiming the exact same thing. I moved over 1000 miles away. Over 5 years ago. And im still being harassed by this company. Received an email today from my job stating that they were going to be garnishing my wages for taxes from two years ago which have already been paid. I've tried reaching out to them via phone call and it claims their hours are from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, but I'm not getting any response. They've sent me maybe one or two pieces of mail all year so I'm not getting this "You are receiving this notice after several attempts" nonsense.Review from Scott M

They are a horrible company that collects taxes, has a lousy website and charges too many fees. Watch your mail in Pennsylvania, because they will send you a bill for a 'Per Capita Tax' I have missed the bill in the mail and have been charged late fees over $50.00 for a bill that was $15.00. They also are poor at keeping records of the taxes you paid and you cannot dispute that with them, they just send it to collections. They are a privatized tax collection company and are even more incompetent replacement for already incompetent government employees. Like others on here I'd give them 0 stars if I could. I miss Florida with a total combined state taxes bill of about $250 after homestead exemption, and also no bullshit taxes like Occupational Privilege, Per Capita and LST Tax I guess LST means Lazy State Turds.Review from Mallory J

Garnished my husband's wages for local taxes that I owed from a place I didn't live in for 9 years. Took multiple calls and emails to get that solved, after they asked for proof that we paid the taxes! Why would we pay local taxes for a township we don't live in! They claimed it was for me and not him. So, they knew I was married but didn't know I moved out of that township BEFORE i got married. One month after that got resolved they garnished my wages for the same local taxes! They found out where I worked but couldn't find out where I live/have lived for 9 years!!! I've only been at my place of employment for 9 months, they figured that out ut couldn't figure out 9 years of a residence! They claim they try to contact you,but don't. I've also had the same phone number for 10 years. It's 2023 and they're systems are clearly run on a system from dial up internet days. They make people look bad to their employers by claiming they refused or failed to pay their taxes and take people's money without consent or knowledge. MULTIPLE TIMES!!!THEY NEED SHUT DOWN.
