    Please avoid letting your travel agent use Avanti to book your travel plans, We had to cancel some bookings through our travel agent using Avanti due to unforeseen circumstances. I had put down a 50% deposit for travel occurring May ****. I cancelled the trip on 12/04/23 and requested a refund. That is when the trouble began, I called them and despite being the purchaser, they wouldn't discuss refunds or deal with me in any way. Second, I am being charged a very high penalty for a trip not starting until May ****. Third, they are irresponsible in the handling of their business. I seems they are in business to only to hook the customer into a sale and then disappear. Their penalties are excessive.

    Avanti Destinations provides packages of travel options for retail travel agents, our direct clients, with whom we communicate regarding matters pertaining to their clients bookings.

    While it is unfortunate that you had to request the cancellation of your trip, it was processed in accordance with Avantis Terms and Conditions (which were available to review prior to purchase), and a partial refund was issued.

    It is also important to understand that Avantis non-refundable fees are per the Terms and Conditions individuals accept by booking their arrangements and cover the basic costs associated with the planning, booking, and management of travel on their behalf (even should a trip not commence) and thus are for services already rendered.

    Avantis Terms and Conditions also strongly encourage all travelers to purchase travel protection or other qualified travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances, and it should be noted that trip cancellations usually are due to unforeseen circumstances.

    For this reason, it is within the consumers best interest, and entirely within the consumers power, to ensure they have appropriate travel protection, as by not securing such coverage, a consumer is accepting the risk of incurring cancellation fees and penalties.

    Finally, if your agent has not already contacted you, we would encourage you to reach out to them for additional important information regarding your booking.
