The ******* Apartments have been charging me double rent when I was supposed to be getting 3 months free. As time has gone on more and more charges and hidden fees keep getting added on making my rent unaffordable. I was told all I paid was parking, rent, internet, and electric. hat is it, and that is what I budgeted for. I am being charged an extra electrical bill, trash, electric for common areas, random extra residential fees, sewer, etc. I did not budget for that, plus the amounts change every month it seems. The landlord *** **** refuses to listen to us, lied about taking of the dog fee, and discounted parking rate as I am a disabled veteran. *** **** has been nothing but placating and dishonest as we have gone to her numerous times about this.

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

It is disappointing to see a complaint come in without substance. SYLO and the ******* Management Team do their best to provide all tenants with transparency and honesty. It saddens me to know that someone would prefer to claim wrongdoing without validity. We only wish to do good for our community.

Please take a moment to review the Lease Agreement signed on September 7th, 2024,between ******* Apartments, ****** *****, and ***** *****.

    Who will find the following:

Section #3: Identifies the terms of the Lease.
    Section #4: Identifies the deposit.
Section #6: Identifies the monthly rent.
Section #7 and Utility Addendum: This section identifies the terms of the utilities and charges that are the tenant's responsibility.
Concession Addendum: This addendum identifies the free rent of $5,955 offered to the tenant for fulfilling the Lease, which expires on May 6th, 2026. The concession was applied to the tenants ledger on the day they took possession.
Section #**: Identifies the lease termination fee of $2,977.50 should the tenant decide not to fulfill the executed lease obligations.
Security Deposit: The deposit is identified in Section #4, and the Security Deposit Payment Addendum identifies it as $1,985.00.
The parking addendum was sent to the tenants for signature on September 24th.We can provide proof if needed.
The tenant made an online payment on October 4th despite having a credit on the account. There was no balance due. The tenant scheduled and initiated the payment via the online portal.

In addition, I am including the notice to vacate received from the tenant, notifying management that the reason for vacating and acknowledging the lease break fee is job relocation. This information contradicts the tenant's complaint.

Lastly,I included the application for *****, which identifies the pets who will occupy the apartment home and explains to management that these pets are not service animals. Youll notice the pet rent was charged on the day the Lease started. However, it was discontinued after this date.

Again, this complaint is unfortunate and disturbing, and I am happy to supply any additional documents.

    Kind Regards,

    ****** ********

This complaint deals with the Northwood Apartments that SYLO Property Management is responsible in the ******************* of ********.There has been a man illegally living in the building since February 2022. **** was alerted to this the day that it was noticed that a UHAUL was parking on the sidewalk overnight and moving furniture into the building between the hours of 10pm and 6am. Immediately after this gentleman moved into the building on someone else's lease, he began brining stolen cars into the neighborhood and striping them in the streets, he parked stolen motorcycles inside the building multiple times, and he was known to SYLO to have stolen furniture from the lobby of the building. This gentleman has been letting other non-residents into the building as well. **** has known this since the day he moved in and has done nothing to help protect the safety of their residents. This resident was arrested on site several months ago on charges including Felony Possession of a Fire Arm. Instead of being present at the building, SYLOs response was to ask the residents of the building to report when this gentleman was onsite. When these reports were made, **** repeatedly did nothing and then sent unprofessional messages to tenants of the building when they were asked why SYLO wasn't doing anything to protect their residents. **** has repeatedly told the tenants that this situation is their #1 priority, but have never stepped up their presence in the building and have constantly pushed their responsibilities on their tenants. **** does not represent any of their "Mission Statements" on their website and constantly shows disrespect to their tenants.
