I initially used Gabe's heating and cooling at the referral of another HVAC person I met. They came out and helped me at my house. I inquired about getting my elderly parents AC installed and we set up a time for a bid. They came out and gave us a bid and we set up an install date for Friday, June 7th. About 30 minutes after the appointment was supposed to be started, ****, who is **** from ****'s Heating and Cooling's brother, texted me saying him and **** had a family emergency and couldn't make it out that day. They said they would prioritize us early in the next week. We totally understood that things come up. No issue there. The real problems started in the middle of the next week. The business would not respond to multiple calls or text messages inquiring about the install. I have also attempted multiple calls and text messages over the last few weeks without a single response from **** or Gabe. Not following through or giving us any bit of contact is unacceptable. My parents are old and my mother is very sick. Gabe's heating and Cooling knew that when they were there. AC was an important part of their comfort this summer and now we have to start over with another company because of this company's terrible business practices and extreme lack of follow through or communication.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/25/2024

    Hi,

We spoke to ********************* around 2:30 pm on 6/25/24.  This was the first time that he called us since we emailed him an estimate on 5/20/24.  What happened is that he was texting one of our employees, ****, instead of contacting us directly.  Alin is only an employee of the company.  He looked at the job, but he did not write up the estimate nor does he take care of the schedule for the company.  When I saw that he left us a bad review on yelp, i emailed him the original estimate and asked what was happening.

The estimate was never signed, nor was there any communication sent to us that they approved the job.  **** never called the office or Gabe directly.  Unfortunately **** did not relay the information to us that **** had texted him. **** was texting **** instead of calling the phone number on the actual estimate or emailing us.  We never start jobs without a signed estimate either. We were under the assumption that they rejected our estimate.

When **** called us, we explained ourselves and told him that **** is not an owner of the company and only an employee.  We told him he should have reached out to the number or email that was on the estimate, especially after he couldn't get a hold of ****.  But he did not.  Instead he sent a bad review on yelp and made a complaint with BBB.

After a long phone call, we did agree to honor our expired estimate with *******************, ***** dad, whose house we are actually doing the work at.  It is scheduled for July 2nd, and as of 4pm on 6/25/24 we received an approved estimate back to start the work.  We also went out of our way to contact and schedule an electrician to do the electrical work that is needed as well.  **** was pleased with all of this.
