  I had a very bad experience with *** Heating and Cooling **** I had scheduled them to do a regular **** gas furnace maintenance service. The same day after maintenance, we sensed gas smell inside house and contacted NW natural gas company, they identified a gas leak in the furnace due to gas valve issue. I contacted the *** Heating and Cooling regarding this issue and the agent came again the next day to diagnose. He wanted to charge me for the gas valve part. When I told him that the **** system and parts are still covered under warranty, he said they don't do warranty work as it doesn't break even their cost. It is such a rip off to customers. Later when I challenged this issue happened the maintenance, he contacted his supervisor and told will charge only the labor, but with a hefty labor charge of $335 in addition to $175 that they charged for the maintenance. I wouldn't recommend this company.

  If I could give this company a zero I would. My mother (who is 88 and not in good health) bought a condo in Southeast ********. The inspector said that it would be a good idea to have the furnace serviced. How she got a hold of these knuckleheads I don't know. Her condo is about 850 sq. ft give or take. So the 1st guy comes and says he doesn't handle this type of furnace. A week later they send out the 2nd guy. Again he says he doesn't know anything about this type of furnace and leaves. He comes back saying the office has told him that he needs to charge a service fee of $165.00. My mother writes him a check. He said a lot of disparaging things about the furnace that he supposedly knows nothing about. Enter the 3rd guy only this time I was there along with my sister. He initially didn't even acknowledge my presence. I told him that I have a problem with people who charge for $165.00 for absolutely nothing. In the course of about 2 hours in which his mouth did the job of heating the air, he quoted my mom about $16K for a new furnace and later on claimed that he knew that was crazy and it's the greed of the company and other companies and they need people like us to take a stand... He contradicted himself so many times I couldn't take anything he had to say seriously. It is my belief that the 2nd guy told the 3rd guy "here's an old widow and she's ready to write a check for just about anything. My mother has called the office requesting her money back. They've hemmed and hawed and blah blah blah'd but we haven't seen any refund. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

  My furnace stopped working and this company quoted me over $4000 in repairs and heavily pushed me towards purchasing a new furnace, despite the fact that mine was only 11 years old. When another service provider came out they were able to fix my furnace for under $800. This company is simply not interested in repairing or servicing systems, they are only interested in pushing unnecessary purchases on their customers. Beware.
