The WorstMr ******************** websites logo reads: Not your ordinary bean counter. If you employ him YOU will add: that because he is extraordinarily BAD!I contracted with Mr ******************** ********************, CPA to perform accounting and tax preparation for the Tax Year of 2020. A contract was signed. Mr ******************** and associates made many errors on my tax return, lost or destroyed important data on flash drives, and refused to make correction without further compensation. This is over and above the approximately $2,218 I had already paid to complete the return. Additionally the **************************** sent to me a letter outlining the more than 15 arithmetic mistakes Mr ********************s firm made on my taxes. After many failed emails and phone calls, Mr ******************** also refused to hand over the contract between he and I until I had to take him to court to force him. I had the return reviewed by another tax preparer, an *** enrolled agent, and to re-do the return at a cost of $4,950.The tax preparer reported numerous mistakes on the return. In addition I received a letter from the **************************** regarding my tax return. The office pointed out issues with the return, which turned out to be costly. I asked Mr. ******************** to response to the notice. Mr ******************** sent to me a release of information form which would allow him to talk to the city and make changes to the return without consulting me. Having very little confidence in Mr ******************** I asked that he talk to the city though, I asked that he send another authorization which would allow for information exchange only. He refused to go any further. I reported Mr ******************** to the ***************************. The person to whom I spoke with stated the allegation appeared to possibly have merit. I am awaiting the result of their investigations. Final word, read and believe the negative reviews.

All of *** ****** ********** complaints come from the fact that he was looking for a way not to pay for our tax preparation services and taking no responsibility for his lack of communication and his lack of clear and complete documentation. One of his first comments when he interviewed us was, "Do you have errors and omissions insurance?" Of course, we do, and I told him so. It didn't occur to me that this was a "Red Flag" before taking on *** ********* as a client.
When *** ********* didn't like the results of his tax returns, he provided additional deductions that he admitted he hadn't originally provided to our bookkeeper.

When he was told there would possibly be additional fees involved in re-doing the bookkeeping and re-preparing the tax returns, he went back to his former tax preparer to make the changes. *** ********* promptly announced that we should not only refund the fees he paid us for bookkeeping and tax preparation but should also reimburse him for the fees he paid his former tax preparer to make the adjustments. When we refused, *** ********* took us to arbitration, as per our engagement letter. After taking various steps to find an arbitrator and set a date, *** ********* canceled arbitration and sued us in Small Claims Court. During the mediation portion of Small Claims, *** ********* asked why I didn't just submit this case to my errors and omissions insurer to pay him off and be done with the matter.

At that point, I realized that the red flag I should have been concerned about was true. I told *** ********* his case didn't have merit and that  I wouldn't submit a meritless case to my insurer. *** ********* then ended mediation, and we went to court. At court, before anyone presented any evidence to the judge, *** ********* filed a motion to have the case dismissed with prejudice. I'm sure *** ********* knew he was not going to win his case. *** ********* then filed a formal complaint with the BBB and with my state's Board of Accountancy. I responded to both complaints with the same information I was prepared to present in Small Claims Court. I received a letter from the Board of Accountancy with the following statement, "Based on the information obtained, the  Board voted to close the inquiry on September 26, 2024, and therefore, an investigation into this matter will not be opened." That confirms that *** ********** efforts were nothing more than harassment to try to get a "Free Lunch." In preparing for small claims court, I found in court records that *** ********* has filed many claims against many companies that he ultimately lost.
