On May 25, 2023, I paid ******** Staley, the owner of Green Construction Solutions, LLC, $33,721.47 for windows, doors, and a pergola for an *** that he had agreed to build for my family in ***********, **. He said that the order had to be placed early so that the materials would arrive in time for a build that was estimated (in an email) to be completed by "late ***************** progress was made in June and July, and ******** stopped communicating with us after August 1, 2023. We discovered that the building permit he submitted was incomplete and had stalled as of July 12. We (family and several subcontractors) tried repeatedly to reach ******** throughout August 2023, and we received no response. I called the vendors, and they said that ******** had never placed any orders for our materials, despite the payment we sent him 3 months prior. His CCB license has been suspended, so he cannot legally work as a contractor on our project. We have asked for a refund of $33,721.47 for the materials we paid him -- he didn't use the money for the windows, doors, and pergola, although his invoice (Invoice ****) was specific to those materials and costs, The money is a large chunk of our retirement funds. We are senior citizens and are building the *** as a place to live, near our family. We appreciate any help that the BBB can provide in helping us get the money back.
