My wife opened an account with **********************, Hillsboro, so that we could return to our apartment after she fell,breaking both wrists and fracturing her C2 vertebrae. They were recommended by a friend and fellow resident of ***************************** ******************************* in ************. The women sent to help were, with one exception, great! The ****** of **** Instead asked for and got a down "payment" of $1,546.32 before work could begin. The ****** personnel were always anxious for payments and several times offered to come by and pick up the check. My wife explained, several times, that we were paying their bill out of current income, and were sending the check as soon as funds were in the bank. "Picking up the check" would not speed up the receipt of money by us,Then the "Owner" called me, He quoted to me an amount owed that was $1,546.32 more than we figured. That was the down payment. He never took that into account, but the check was cashed.Now he not only coming after my wife but also me. We both have collection notices for the same amount,The owner not only wants the down payment money, he wants it TWICE! Plus the amount owed for services, TWICE. This is a very SHARP business practice indeed! Talk about senior abuse! I am 90 and my wife 87.
