On September 25, 2019, BBB recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding product and refund issues. Consumers allege after they order and pay for the company to provide them an EIN tax ID number, they discover EIN numbers are offered for free from the IRS directly. Although the company has a disclaimer regarding the free service provided by the IRS as part of the footnote disclaimer on their website, consumers allege they did not see the disclaimer nor were they informed before their purchase. Two consumers allege the company never provided them with an EIN number.
BBB found the company states the following on their website, “Ein Forms Gov/Tax Filing Forms is a document preparation & filing service and cannot provide legal, financial, or other professional advice. We do not review the information you submit on a professional, legal or accounting level as we are not, nor are we affiliated with any attorneys or accountants. You can obtain an EIN yourself at no charge with the IRS but we won’t be able to assist you. This website is not affiliated with the US Department of Treasury or the IRS.”

I have uploaded the document I was sent and paid online, and the company failed to provide my company an IEN Number. I have attempted to call and the company numerous times and appears to not be in business or was most likely fraudulent in the first place.Initial Complaint

I began filling out form, I thought forms were completed and it asked for payment information. I filled it out and i was charged right away. It didnt ask me to review my order or charge before placing the charge. It then said I had to fill out two more forms for the sellers permit. When I reviewed those forms I realized I wasnt eligible to apply. If the first page was all I needed I would have paid for it but it did not warn me that I needed to fill out two more pages and charged me before application was completed. I realized quickly that this wasnt right. Im extremely nervous that they took personal information such as my SS number. *** tried emailing and calling several times stating I did not fill out last two pages and would like my refund. Ive had no response. This is clearly a scam. I would like my full refund as well as to have all my information erased from their system. This site is misleading on many levels. Ive never paid for anything before it was completed. *** also never had a transaction go through without asking you to review information and agree to payment. No one answers phone or emails. There is a threatening statement on confirmation email that says payment disputing payment is fraudulent. Please help me with this. The *** should not allow this site to exist. They make it seem like this is how one applies for a sellers permit but the government offers it for free. My application will not go through to govt because the last two pages arent filled out. There for I should have a refund. How is this site allowed to exist. I have since received many calls and emails from other businesses that are scams which leads me to believe they are selling peoples information. I had received three notices on three different occasions by the Department of the Treasury **************** Services for receiving an Economic Impact Payment. March 5, 2021 they claim that $600.00 was issued by direct deposit.March 26, 2021 they claimed that $600.00 was issued by Check/Debit card.March 2, 2022 they claimed that $1,400.00 was issued to **** havent received any of these payments. I tried to contact these people several times by postal mail, and they never responded back. I *** know if its a scam or what.Initial Complaint

The business' website impersonates an IRS website. I was trying to apply for an EIN, but I submitted all my sensitive information and was asked to pay $250 when I realized I was scammed. This business does not make it clear that they are a third party filing company. I paid for a service that the *** does for free and was not informed of this until getting my confirmation email. I am not sure that I was even given a true or valid EIN. I am pretty sure that they also sold my information to other scammers because I am also receiving spam mail since using this service. This business doesn't even have accurate contact information. I am unable to get a hold of anyone or leave a voicemail.Initial Complaint

On 10/17/2022 I attempted to get an EIN for my mother (I am her POA, and have just hired some caregiving support that she will pay for). It's not just that I was fooled by the online presentation by this company, but once I arrived at the screen asking for $155 (at which point I suspected the site was not legit), I could not back up and erase my mother's SSN. Nor could I contact the company in any way. So here I've typed in my mother's SSN and given it to a company whom I now actively distrust. I would like to erase my mother's record in this company's data.Initial Complaint

I filed a ****x on March 26th, 2021 and it was sent to the wrong address. I was told by the *** if I filed a change of address they would send it to the new address. Choice Filings is representing themselves as an authorized agent of the *** and charging a $250.00 fee for issuing EIN number. This service is offered free from the *** but purposely they don't clearly make consumers aware of this. I realized within the same day this was the case and requested a refund that was promptly denied. This is pure fraud and the State ************************ should be acting on the multiple complaints filed by consumers who these agencies scam.Initial Complaint

My husband filed his taxes with GetYourRefund.org on the 6th of June, I belive, and at first seemed very helpful and great customer service. Now, since he filed, all communication from them stopped, and the status bar on the irs website is now gone, changed to a ***** message stating "your tax return is still being processed" but when I check mine it has the status bar at the top, his does not. So we decided he'd request his transcript, it finally came in the mail stating "NO RECORD OF RETURN FILED" and a blank page. We can't get any answers, and I forgot to mention that we went through h*** to get our refund the year before, which we just got this year in April!!! (Filed through a different source) We are just looking for some relief and want our refund please!! I went to file for a EIN with the irs when searching for the website this site came up. The site is very unclear and starts with the process of filing for the ein and has that they are a filing service information at the bottom of the page. I thought I was on the irs website but its clear I wasnt. The *** does charge for a EIN nor SSN and these ppl are charging you to do what you can do on your own!!! Everything they asked for was on the actual *** website and same process. This is a scam in the worse way for ppl who have no idea what they are doing and excited to do what they are doing, and ****** alone with Apple and any other search engine should not be advertising their site before the actual *** website as if they are better. ****** for you to fill out an application for me that I just filled out with you? Make it make sense. I should have known better. Seriously I will review and report this website every chance I get because this is a complete rip off!!!! irs-ein-tax-id.com
