On January 31,2023 I was in an auto accident and my car was towed to this company. I was able to get my belongings out of the car a few days later. A few months after when I contacted the company, I was told that a lien of sale was sent to the registered owner, but I never received a notice nor did the finance company who I owed $13,000 for the car. When I tried to get pictures of the car for insurance purposes I was told that 1) the car was destroyed at a wreaking company next door, that the lien of sale was sent to the registered owner, a **** in ********* and they had no pictures of the car due to a "new system", even after I was told by the wreaking company that destroyed my car that the towing company had pictures. I'm left $13,000 in **** because the insurance company can't verify that the car has been totaled. Please help. I've contacted an attorney in this matter and was told that I need to contact an investigation attorney to help me handle this. I can't afford this. Can you Please help me?

Vehicle was involved in a accident and towed to our lot on 1/31/2023 with heavy front end damage by request of ********************** Police. Owner removed personals from the vehicle on 2/3/2023. We waited until 5/1/2023 to have insurance or the owner remove the vehicle or make arrangements to pay the bill and storage, we then requested current registered owner information from ********** and received a Certified Document from them and sent out a notice for the lien against the vehicle.Vehicle was a total loss from heavy damage and it was sold 6/30/2023. This vehicle was on our lot for 6 months with no payment arrangements or agreement prior to lien sale.

Consumer who filed complaint was also given photo's of the damaged vehicle and was told to have any insurance contact us directly for any more info if needed.

This company obtained the wrong information regarding the registered owner of the vehicle and sent a lien of sale to the prior owner of the vehicle and not to me or the company that had financed the vehicle.   This has caused me a great deal of anxiety and stress along with time that I had to investigate this matter.  Due to this I might still be on the hook for the $13,000 that I still owed for this vehicle.   I'm still in the process of trying to figure all of this out.  This note that I owed had been transferred to another financial institution and am nor sure if the insurance that covered the car will be valid.   I still have not heard back from this new institution regarding this matter.
