I took my 1991 **** to be repaired because it was running rough with a high idle. The truck had the spark plugs, rotors, and distributor cap rotors replaced at about ******* miles before I bought the car in late 2022. It now has ******* miles, and these parts typically need replacement every ****** to ******* miles per the **** maintenance manual and other repair manuals..I spoke with the General Manager, ********, and I was never informed as required by law that the establishment was recording our call without my permission or consent.I had given ******** the invoice from the transmission repair shop, which listed the codes that needed to be addressed: Code 12 - Can't Control RPM during High RPM check, and Code TPS/FIPL out of Range.******** of Stadium Auto told me that they do tune-ups. ******** assured me that the work they would perform would address the issue of the car running rough with an engine RPM over 2500. She was aware of the codes before they began working on the truck. However, the repairs that were done would not solve the issues related to those codes. As the expert, I should have been informed of that. The needed repair involved a throttle position sensor and a throttle body gasket, costing $202.00, not the repairs that had been done prior to me buying the Truck I don't recall signing off on the work order at Stadium Auto for the unnecessary repairs on my 1991 truck, as is required. They replaced parts that had already been replaced and charged me for it. Not only did they fail to fix the problem, but they also charged for unnecessary repairs simply for profit.

    Business Response

MS ********* has contacted the credit card company to stop payment on this, I sent this letter it. She was denied.

It includes our conversation on the phone which is legal in ******. as long as one party know. Our employees know that they are being recorded.

She askes for a tune up- it needed one badly, parts were very worn. The truck was running rough as she stated in the first conversation when she requested a tune up. The tune up took care of the running rough but not the fast idle. We do not have the info or tools to fix a 1993 PU, we told her in the very start, we will do maintenance   but not all repairs.

She than, after the fact, says she didn't ask for one, she did. Claims we did one the year before, no, we did brakes. She claims that is was tuned, it was not, She could not find any paper work that it was tuned, because it was not. And she asked for a tune up.

She claims that Courteney was the tune would take care of the fast idle, in reviewing the conversation, she did not. 3 of her claims were not what happened. So thankful that we had recording of this which are included..

I'm going on 53 years in the automotive business, we work hard at pleasing our customers. I'm eager to get this resolved and behind me. We didn't do anything wrong.
