I contacted Whitney at Blackwell frames (previously known as ******* ****** *****) to frame a 1920's poster, part of her commitment to frame the poster was also to deliver it. The poster is worth $4,000. It was my husbands and he passed away suddenly 2 years ago. On October 30th Whitney hired someone to deliver it to me - the person had an open bed pickup truck and she and her husband loaded the poster wrapped in a tarp into the truck bed in the middle of a rain storm. It was raining when she loaded it into the truck and wrote me an email that I didn't see until after it was delivered saying she had taken measures to protect it - but didn't say it was going to be our in the elements. Her email communication to me said she had hired a professional art person to deliver it - the man was not a professional. He hangs pictures. He did not know what was in the box he picked up. She contracted him - I had no hand in the decision. Moisture got under the frame and the poster is now ruined. Whitney did not return my calls or emails for 4 days about this, and has not taken responsibility for what her choices were, or for the damage she has caused. It appears she also does not have the proper liability insurance to cover the matter. She refused to give me the delivery person name and number in the days leading up to the delivery, which I asked for 3 times in writing. She finally sent his information 20 minutes before he was to arrive, and I didn't see it until he was already here. Her actions were reckless.
