    I've been renting an apartment in this complex for just over 3 years now and we've complained about the excessive noise from contractors working on and around our building on multiple occasions. My husband and I work solely from home and have to be on the phone a lot. Over the past two days contractors have come out and been tearing siding off of the building, sawing, hammering, using all sorts of incredibly loud tools making it impossible to work. Yesterday my husband sent them a message asking them about the noise and they apologized and said they would give us warning next time. Of course no warning and they showed up today making the same noise. When I went down to the leasing office to talk to the property manager she blew me off and told me she could *** any amount of noise she wanted whenever she wanted. I'm a renter, sure, but I have rights. At least informing us of when there will be all this noise would allow us to plan our calls around it, but they feel no obligation to the tenants at all.

    I lived in my apartment at this complex for a year. In the past I've had issues with being charged above my deposit for damages not done by me but my experience at the Meridian take the cake. When I moved in I made sure to write down all the marks and issues in the unit on my move in sheet. Noting the stains/ wear and tear in the carpet and stains on the walls etc. Upon our move out my roommate and I scrubbed the entire unit and used the cleaning checklist the leasing office provided to make sure we wouldn't be charged extra cleaning fees (we knew we would still be charged for this.) Much to our surprise we had a $1,600 fee after our move out to replace the carpet and paint the walls etc. They claimed there were "pet stains" all over the apartment and that we were responsible for the carpet since it was "new" when we moved in. My cat never had an accident in the apartment and certainly didn't cause any damages. One of the closet units also fallen out of the wall while we lived there and maintenance left a mess of the screw holes and scratches on the walI. They tried to charge us for those damages even though we put a request in to have it fixed immediately and their people didn't finish the job of repairing the wall. I tried to work with the women in the front office and referenced my move in sheet where I had written down all damages prior to our move in. They were EXTREMLY rude and unhelpful and told me I wasn't specific enough so I'd still be responsible. I asked for their file of pictures of our damages (they were taken on a very old camera with bad quality so you couldn't even see damages in their pictures.) Luckily I had a video with a date stamp from the day I toured the unit before our move in so I was able to go through and screen shot each area they claimed we damaged. I had to create and entire document showing side by side images to prove the damages weren't from us. I decided to go above the women in the office and worked with the Property Director who was way more understanding and helpful. She ended up agreeing that we weren't responsible and waived the $1,600 fee but we still didn't get our deposit back. After all the stress of dealing with them I accepted it and moved on. I wasn't going to write a review until the same thing happened to my friend who lived in the same complex. Unfortunately they didn't have the photo evidence from before their move in date and were still responsible for almost $1,000 in damages. I wouldn't recommend this complex or any of their sister properties to my worst enemy. The stress of the financial burden over your head for damages you didn't cause and the lack of empathy of the people who work there is enough for me to write this review 8 months later. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
