I called the Looney Bin and talked to the female owner (fo) about making my stand up comedy debut. She indicated that prospective guests need not purchase a ticket to see me...as I wanted to pay for them if that was the case. FO assured me that any guests would NOT be charged for an admission ticket or "forced" to purchase an alcoholic beverage. Note..I looked on the walls for a required posting of an ABLE Liquor License and when I was not able to locate one..I asked the FO where it was posted. She responded that she did not have to show me where her ABLE Liquor license was or was not posted. Then she went back to pouring alcoholic beverages & accepting only CASH payments. I indicated that it was illegal (my understanding) to sell alcoholic beverages without a Liquor License...to which she responded that "it" was none of my business. I then asked where the sign up sheet was located to which she responded that it was over there...go find it! Another patron pointed me in the right direction and I was signed in as fourth comic up for open mic night. At no time on the phone...or in my direct communication with her did she advise me that she could arbitrarily bounce any comic from the premises if I did not "bring a guest" OR purchase an alcoholic beverage !!! Their were approximately 15 comics on the sign up sheet when she informed ME that no "props" were allowed on stage...and that I would have to remove my props from the premises...immediately!! When I asked her why she didn't tell me that when she came to the front door...as they were standing against the door as I was waiting to get in she indicated that SHE was the owner & tough luck! Therefore... I am seeking reimbursement for the cost of the props and business cards printed specifically for my debut night at the Looney Bin.
