A guy called me saying he was from AMR, and wanting to verify my residence address before continuing. I asked him what AMR was before I confirmed personal information. He immediately got defensive and said you can look AMR up on the BBB, but you have to verify before your address before I can tell you more information. I was not wanting to know the reason he was calling and simply was asking what AMR does before I verify my personal information. He continued to refuse to disclose what AMR does. According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), debt collectors are not allowed to reveal that they are a debt collection agency or firm unless they are specifically asked. The man who called me was specifically asked by me what AMR does and he would not disclose the information.

The consumer was notified of the five cases from Garfield County, ******** referred to Account Management Resources for collections by letter when received in our office in June of 2019 to the address provided to the original creditor. The consumer contacted AMR on 06/11/2019 at the direction of the courts to begin the warrant recall process for the five active cost warrants placed in our office for collections. At the countys discretion, a down payment of $250 per active cost warrant in addition to a monthly payment plan was required to meet their court requirements for recall. The consumers spouse contacted AMR on 06/14/2019 and AMR assisted in taking the county down payment requirement for recall over the phone and setting a monthly payment plan. During this conversation an agreed upon amount and due date was set for the monthly payment plan. The consumers spouse was informed this payment plan must remain current, if the arrangement became delinquent it would be up to the client, Garfield County if a cost warrant would be reissued or not.07/15/2019 the consumer contact AMR to confirm his monthly payment amount and due date. Our agent informed him the agreed upon amount of $50 was due by the 19th of each month to remain current and avoid becoming delinquent. The agreed upon arrangement set through the warrant recall process was not maintained and Garfield County issued a cost warrant for the three remaining cases on 09/27/2022. When the consumer contacted AMR on 09/29/2022 he was informed of the countys decision to issue the warrants due to defaulting on the arrangement and their process to have them recalled if he so chose. AMR assisted in taking the down payment for the warrant recall process and again assisted the consumer in setting a monthly agreement with a set amount and due date to begin in October of 2022.As of 07/05/2023, the agreed upon monthly payment set during the warrant recall process completed in September of 2022 has not yet been made.AMR does not add any additional fees to these cases when sent to collections. The only cost associated is the percentage that the court adds upon issuing the cost warrant and turning to collections per the ******** State Statute Title 19. Please also know, AMR does not issue nor request the issuing of any cost warrant associated with any cases in its office for collections, this is solely at the discretion of the County in which the case resides. We ask that you please contact our office directly for further assistance with this matter and in an effort to bring these cases arrangements current. You may contact our office directly:Phone: ************* or toll free ************************.
