I hired Legend roofs to replace my roof and gutters. After they had removed my roof and we’re placing the new shingles the workers for legend roofs found that they were defective. They still installed the defective shingles. They will not replace the defective shingles until their claim with Owens Corning has been approved. Legend roofs is stating it will take a month before they can replace the defective shingles and then place my new gutters. My house is currently up for sale and have lost my buyer because legend roofs did not finish the work on time. When I talked to the buyers about transferring the contract they said no. Any new potential buyers I get on the house steer away because of the roof issue. The longer my house stays on the market the value will be decreased and it doesn’t help I had a buyer drop the sale because of the roof. I want the issue to be fixed asap and I have explained it to them multiple times.

Jasmin contracted us to replace her roof and our supplier delivered July 18th.  Installation starter July 19th.  During the installation, we noticed a defect in the granular pattern on the shingles.  This defect was of cosmetic concern and did not affect the functionality of the product.  We finished the roof with the product on hand at the request of the manufacturer.  The client was immediately notified of the issue and plan to file a claim with the manufacture by one of the owners and in person.  At that time she expressed concern (not the only time) about trying to close on her house and how that might impact the sale.  We were able to get an Owens Corning rep to location same day and sought ways to expedite the claim.  Unfortunately, Owens Corning isn't fast at claims.  After we were given expectations on the timeline from Owens Corning, we communicated the information to Jasmin.  She let us know on the 28th that the buyer was threatening to back out of the deal without a new roof.  We let Jasmine know (July 28th) we were moving asap and could get all warrantees transferred to the buyer, but she communicated that this was not satisfactory (July 28th).  While, Legend Roofs is not responsible for defects in the manufacture's product, it's not right that the client should have to deal with the issue in such an impactful way.  Jasmin's complaint was fair, and she was pushing with very good and urgent reason.  Therefore, we resolved to replace the roof with or without Owens Corning approving the claim on defective color patterns.  We reached out again, on the evening of the 28th for the closing date (Aug 10th).  We planned on touching base with her first thing in the morning with a plan and a new date for installation.  At 8:58 AM July 29th, as intended, we let her know that we were planning on replacement no later than the 8th of August leaving gutter install for the 9th of August.  She responded 37 mins later with the following "I agree with that plan.".
