On May 5, 2025, I visited Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM (215 SE Interstate Dr, Lawton, OK 73501) to buy a 2015 Ford Explorer XLT (Stock# *******, VIN: *****************), advertised on Auto Trader for $6,500. The ad stated the “Advantage program” was “included with every purchase,” implying no extra cost beyond standard fees (tags, tax, title). The staff refused to sell unless I paid an undisclosed fee for the mandatory Advantage program, which they wouldn’t remove. They were annoyed I brought a $6,500 cashier’s check and offered the car for an extra $1,500 with $1,000 down if I financed. This deceptive practice caused me $58.37 in losses ($55.37 gas, $3 cashier’s check fee) and ~4 hours of time, violating Oklahoma’s Consumer Protection Act (15 O.S. § 753) and the FTC’s CARS Rule. I’ve filed complaints with the FTC, Oklahoma AG (redirected to the Used Motor Vehicle Commission because I didn't know that existed), AutoTrader, and Yelp, noting similar pricing issues. I contacted GM ******* ********, who hasn’t replied as of May 6, 2025. I have evidence: AutoTrader listing, cashier’s check, and gas receipt. Please help resolve this unfair treatment. I seek the vehicle for $6,500 as originally advertised.Business Response

To Whom it may concern,
My name is ******* ********, I am the General Manager of Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge. I have received a complaint from Mr *****. I also reached out to Mr ***** and apologized for my failure to email him after I couldn't reach him on the phone. He is a fine gentleman and accepted my apology. I offered him the price he requested. Understandably, he bought elsewhere. Once again, we could have handled this better and I take responsibility for the lack of communication. Thank you for your time on this matter.

On 29 March I brought a car from this dealership trading in my previous car and purchasing a new one it has now been almost 30 days and my trade in his not paid off and I have not received my lien title to even register my new vehicle. When calling to ask the process staff gives you the run around and is very unprofessional. When you call them on the phone they transfer you to a line that no one picks up or they tell you someone will call you back and they don’tBusiness Response

On July 19th I submitted a *** refund request for trading in my car I purchased with Lawton Dodge Jeep. I waited a month to receive the check. On August 21st I reached out to the dealership asking for a status on the *** check. I received no contact back, on October 1st I reached out again letting them know I haven't received anything in the mail if I could get an update. **** ******** reached out asking to confirm my mailing address. On October 5th I reached out to **** asking if he had an update, he stated he would resubmit my request because the previous gentleman that handled it was no longer with them and said they had gotten a new system, and a few cancellations had problems with. I reached out again on October 9th **** stated he resent my request along with several others. On October 14th I asked for an updated or a tracking number, I got no response. October 16th, I asked again for a tracking number, **** reached out October 17th saying as soon as they have a tracking number he would send me it. Till this day I have not heard from **** or received a tracking number. I believe the dealership is trying to keep my *** money.Business Response

We certainly apologize for the inconvenience and for the length of time it is taking to refund the cancellation. We have looked into this matter and have asked that this cancellation be escalated. The most recent update we have is getting the bank to sign off that the vehicles lien has been satisfied. We have informed ******** about the status and will continue to update her as we move forward. It not our intent nor has it ever been our intent to keep funds, but I certainly understand the optics and frustrations behind the length of time. I will continue to monitor and expedite this matter moving forward.

My grandfather bought me a car as I was going through some financial issues. They took my truck as a trade in for a 2023 challenger along with ****** down. The dealership had my grandfather as the only person on the loan. On top of my grandfather being my only option to help with the issue, the dealership was told he suffered from dementia and tends to get confused. The dealership emailed all of the paperwork to my grandfather and gave me about 5% of the paper work, which left me with no knowledge of the current situation and no information on my own financial side. When the bank called my grandfather he told them that he bought the car for me, upon hearing this the bank denied the loan. The dealership never notified my grandfather or me of the denial. When I went to talk to the dealership about my license plates 2 months later they finally told me the loan was denied. Upon hearing this I told them to take their car back and give me my truck, but they had already sold my truck to an auction and wouldn't give it back without massive fines (they never told me the amount they wanted to give me the truck back). They then told me they would keep the entire down payment with the exception of *****.Business Response

To whom it may concern,
Mr. ***********;did indeed purchase the vehicle on the 7th of February. After concerns, we agreed to fix the CV boot and Shocks associated with the front suspension of the vehicle. We did this at a cost to us for customer satisfaction. On June 9th he returned the vehicle to our service department and identified some other issues to include the port and rattles. We have informed the warranty company and they are actively trying to address the issues that they cover. We did order the wrong part initially and we do apologize for the inconvenience. We do have a minimal amount of loaner vehicles as that program comes at a great cost to our company. We allot them to first come, first serve customers. I will attempt to save him one when one comes available to help alleviate some inconvenience. We will also put his vehicle on a priority list to expedite the process. At this time we are subject to parts time and availability as well as what the service contract would cover. We will actively work with ********* for a resolution as the vehicle goes through the repair process.

12/2023 I brought my 2008 jeep wrangler in to do a diagnostic which the cost I agreed to pay was $180.00 I signed to the agreement on that amount, to see how much it would be to repair the issues that the vehicle was having. The price to repair the vehicle was to much for my liking so I decided to look at trading in the vehicle to get a new vehicle on 01/03/2024 LCJDR was offering a vehicle for sell to me the vehicle was on the website for sell but wasn't available for a test drive. I was interested in this vehicle. I asked if I need to put money down to save this vehicle so it wouldn't get sold. They charged my credit card for $500.00, As of 01/03/2024 I haven't been able to test drive this vehicle but was promised that thew vehicle was put through a safety check. I was assured by the vehicle was peak condition with no issues other then needing new shocks and a missing bolt that they were going to replace. on 01/04/2024 I was told the vehicle was still not available for me to test drive but they wanted me to close on this vehicle in question. I told them I wasn't going to close on the vehicle until I could drive the vehicle. Magically the vehicle was ready to test drive, I test drove the vehicle and I notice the vehicle had issues with the tires and the sound and I could feel an uncomfortable vibrating coming from the vehicle. At this point I was told that the $500.00 was a nonrefundable fee, I did not sign anything staying this $500.00 dollars was nonrefundable. If I Was told about the charge being nonrefundable charge I would have never of allowed to charge my card. I decided against purchasing this vehicle because of the issues with the vehicle. I have not received any funds or a call from the owner of LCJDR. To cover the diagnostic fee for the wrangler they took it out of the $500.00.Business Response
