Bought our daughter a car for college. She's been driving it for several months no issues. Sent her to get the oil changed. 2 days later she calls says it temping hot. I drive to where she is. And find there's not a drop of oil in the car. Looked more to find there was no drain plug either. I put one on and filled with oil. Within a couple days the car starts smoking really bad. I send her up to have them check it. They tap dance around and says they will have the owner call. He calls a week later and starts off by saying "I don't know why I've even gotta call you for this". She explains the situation. He says "that's just a coincidence. Your cars just burning oil". So now I call, leave message. Also talked to the manager on duty. He says he'll have the owner call. Nothing. He'll talk down and treat a young woman like she stupid. But when a man calls he won't respond. I've taken it to another shop. And they all agree it's because there was no oil. It's either a burnt ring or head gasket.

The car in question is 20 years old, has around ******* miles on it, and has not been well maintained. When the customer brought the car into our shop the first time, it was already smoking. Typically when someone brings us a car in this condition, we will not even touch it to begin with. However, an exception was made for the customer, and we changed the oil. When the customer brought the car back in a second time, it was smoking yet again. Upon inspection, we confirmed that the car had already burned all of the oil we previously put in it. As a courtesy, we filled the car back up with oil, free of charge. As we have explained to the customer on more than one occasion, the car is burning oil at an exacerbated rate. This is due to its age and condition, and nothing we did to it has caused this. We also want to note that we were never made aware of an alleged missing drain plug until we received this complaint. If we had forgotten to put the plug back in, the car would not have continued to drive for a few blocks, let alone days. Based on this fact, we can assure you that the plug was properly put back in place after the initial oil change. We are sorry that the customer is not satisfied with our service; however, we are not at fault for the current condition of the car.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: we never had an issue with the car smoking what do ever. And it wasn't days.  My daughter drove it down the street. And stopped. When she got back in it the next day it temp hot and she pulled it over as soon as she safely could. The manager on duty that I spoke with was told about the missing drain plug. She drove this car for 3 months before this with no issue what do ever. If it was burning so much oil (about a gallon every 5 days at this point) we'd of never been able to even drive the car there. Much less get the oil changed.  Nice try though.  The car is old. But was in great running condition till ****'s did this. And the fact no one calls back is a testament to their poor business practices

    Sincerely,

    Lonnhit ie *****
