On Saturday, May 10, 2025, I contacted my roadside assistance for help with a flat tire. This company wasdispatched at 1:27 PM and arrived at approximately 3:00 PM to tow my 2012 ****** Camry from ******************************************** to ************, *****, **. I was with the vehicle the entire time, and multiple witnesses and I personally observed the driver pull and damage the front end and bumper while unloading the vehicle at the tire shop. This caused the front bumper and liner to be pulled away from the body and left hanging loose. The driver admitted total fault in this incident, stating he skipped jacking my car up before removing the tow equipment.Prior to the tow, my vehicle had a minor cosmetic imperfection (a loose zip tie securing the plastic liner where one clip was missing), but it was fully intact, safe to drive, and had no structural or mechanical issues. After the tow, the bumper and liner were detached, rubbing the tire, and causing a noticeable wheel shake. I did not drive the car May 11. On May 12, I had to drive the vehicle and the bumper again came loose while driving, with the wheel shake worsening and causing an unsafe condition. I was stranded roadside and had to duct tape the bumper myself to continue safely. I called St. ********* at 10:52 AM on Monday and texted at 2:50 PM requesting assistance and insurance information. The attached text thread shows my follow-up after their lack of response for over 3 hours. I had to call for other help and arrange a temporary fix, as I was stranded on the side of the highway. As a result of improper handling of my vehicle, refusal to provide their insurance information when requested, and failure to respond after multiple contacts, I was left to resolve the issue at personal risk and expense.I have supporting documentation including photographs of the vehicle damage and text message records showing my outreach and their failure to respond.. I am prepared to provide these upon request.Business Response

Your insurance already deducted your false claim from my check so please stop trying to commit insurance fraud making claims on top of claimsCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
The response from St. Michael’s Towing is not only unprofessional but also false and defamatory.
Rather than addressing the actual damage that occurred or offering any resolution, the business has made an unfounded accusation of insurance fraud, which I strongly reject.
Key facts:
1. I have submitted only one legitimate claim regarding damage that occurred during a tow on May 10, 2025. The tow was requested through my Progressive roadside assistance coverage and was performed by St. Michael’s Towing.
2. The tow operator admitted fault on-site, stating that he skipped jacking the car before removing tow equipment. This caused the bumper and liner to be pulled away from the vehicle.
3. I have photo and video evidence showing the condition of the vehicle before and after the tow, as well as witnesses who observed the damage occur.
3. The driver refused to provide insurance information when asked — I had to obtain this information independently from the Oklahoma Department of Insurance.
4. The claim is still in progress. No insurance company has finalized or fully paid out this claim, contrary to the business’s assertion.
5. I have submitted a professional repair estimate totaling $1,888, and I have incurred rental expenses due to the unsafe condition of my vehicle following the incident.
My Position:
The business has not provided any factual rebuttal, nor have they acknowledged or taken responsibility for the damage caused during the tow. Instead, their response is a baseless personal attack designed to deflect liability.
What I am requesting:
- Full reimbursement for the documented repair estimate ($1,888).
- Reimbursement for the cost of a rental vehicle during the repair period.
- A formal retraction of the false claim of insurance fraud.
I am asking the BBB to keep this case open and unresolved, and to request a professional, fact-based response from the business. I remain open to a resolution, but it must be grounded in accountability and facts — not accusations.
Sincerely,
Jordan Brittenham

You forget that I have photos as well this is why this insurance company denied claim and now there doing additional work to deny you a second time the road club paid you already on damage that was not caused by a towtruck it’s just something behind your bumper we couldn’t get photos of the plastic under and bumper itself was damaged really bad before we arrived on scene which we have pictures of so yes insurance fraud get paid 1 time not multiple claiming damage that was already there and claiming it against someone is also insurance fraud also keep reporting all this over and over to everything you can think of as you have been on fraud fb accounts and such that is slander because again not true we also have pictures for proofCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: The only pre-existing issues were a flat tire and a small cosmetic gap; my photos, video, and the attached $1,888 licensed-shop estimate show the bumper and liners were torn loose when the driver admitted he “skipped jacking” while unloading. St. Michael’s refused to give me its insurance information, forcing me to open (and later close) an unpaid Agero file and obtain the policy from the Oklahoma DPS; meanwhile Progressive—its own carrier—has confirmed one outstanding claim and is prepared to settle or seek a court order due to lack of cooperation. The $521.97 that Agero withheld from the driver has never been paid to me, and calling my single unresolved claim “insurance fraud” is defamatory. After 38 days with the bumper duct-taped and no rental or loss-of-use compensation, I will consider this resolved only when St. Michael’s (or its insurer) pays the full $1,888 repair cost, reasonable loss-of-use, and retracts the false fraud allegation.Customer Answer

The driver specifically chose a front-end wheel-lift tow, raising the vehicle from the front bumper area. If the bumper had truly been “already damaged,” this method would have been unsafe and should not have been used. His decision to lift from the front—and his on-site admission that he skipped jacking—further proves the bumper was secure before the tow and that the damage occurred during unloading.Initial Complaint

10/25/2024, i contacted ****** ****** Imports about purchasing a key fob w/ programming for my 08 ************* C300(blue). They said they would need the car to be towed to them. ****** ****** Imports connected me with a tow service that happened to be AAA and St Michaels Towing. St Michaels Towing came and towed my car to ****** ****** Imports. ****** ****** Imports was ready with my key fob on 10/30/2024. When I went to pick up my car that day, the battery was dead. And after getting a new battery my car still was not operating. The engine wouldnt start and the windows would not operate. However St Michaels Towing towed my Benz, it damaged the ESL(electronic steering lock). I informed the company about the damages and they said the best they could do was tow my car from ****** ****** to my address with a discount. I did not use their tow service. On 11/1/2024 I sent St Michaels Towing an estimate by ****** ****** Imports to repair my car, and also emailed them through BBB. I havent heard anything back from them.Business Response

As stated on our conversation on the phone, Driver did not mess with steering column. There was nothing Driver could have done to mess up any module towing your car There was nothing documented that it even ran before we even got there. Thank you for the complaint. Have a nice day.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Clearly, forcing a steering wheel that is locked, and dragging the car while it is locked and can damage an ESL on a ********. The driver even mumbled that damage could be done if he didnt do it right. The car was definitely operable. I had just recently lost the key fob. St Michaels Towing damaged the vehicle and will be held responsible for repairs.
thank youBusiness Response

Called to speak with towing company about a charge issue and the owner became very agitated and rude about the fact that I was requesting a refund on a charge that should have never charged for. Obviously, this tow company doesn't know how to tow a vehicle correctly. A company using vulger language towards customers is horrible customer.Customer Answer
