      Terrible scam company that should be shut down. They lie and waste your time. They do not give crap about any dire situation you may be in. I was told my membership covered landlord tenant dispute cases, yet I recieved an email within the first week of being a member, saying they have exhausted all avenues and there are no lawyers for my case.

      Subject: Formal Demand for Contract Termination and Refund — Member #***********

      To Whom It May Concern,

      I demand immediate termination of my LegalShield contract ******************* and a full refund due to multiple violations and failure to provide services.

      On August 6 at 4:36 PM, a ****** *** representative refused to consult me solely because I don’t speak fluent English and use Google subtitles. She falsely claimed I was recording the call and refused to proceed. This violates:

      Section II.A — I’m entitled to unlimited consultations.

      Section III.C — Services must be provided unless prohibited by law.

      Section III.D — If access is “severely limited,” written notice and pro-rata refund are required. I received neither.

      LegalShield rep ***** promised a callback on August 7 but never followed up. This violates:

      Section III.A — Timely response required.

      Section III.U — I authorized disclosure to resolve the issue; no action was taken.

      I’m still being charged for a plan that is not functioning. I demand:

      Cancellation of contract *****************  Full refund of all fees

      Written confirmation that no further charges will occur

      If unresolved within 5 business days, I will escalate to the Florida Bar (Section III.G) and initiate arbitration (Section III.V).

      I enrolled in Legal Shield after a presentation at my place of employment on 8/04/2016. I was being auto billed by the services from 8/04/2016 - 3/04/2024. I called to request the cancellation process for my Legal Shield account in March 2024. I submitted the cancellation email as requested and I was told the Legal Shield services were cancelled. Upon review of my bank account recently, I realized I was still being charged $14.95 monthly by Legal Shield. I called on 8/07/25 to speak to a representative and it was during this call that I was made aware I was still being billed by a different service through Legal Shield called "ID Shield." I had no idea I was enrolled in a separate service called ID shield. I feel this was a misleading and fraudulent business practice. I was misled and deceived when I initially signed up with Legal Shield and was not advised I was also signing up for a separate service and I feel I was further misled and deceived when I called on March 4, 2024 to cancel my Legal Shield account and the representative never once communicated anything to me about the separate account through Legal Shield called "ID Shield." I am requesting a full refund of all payments made to ID Shield since 8/04/2016. The monthly payment was $14.95 monthly and according to my calculations the total is $1,794.00. I am incredibly disappointed in the deceitful and misleading business practices of Legal Shield and hope this matter can be resolved.

When I cancelled My Legal Shield membership in March 2024, at no time did the representative explain to me or ask me if I wanted to cancel all memberships through Legal Shield. I feel I was misled. I am requesting a refund for all payments taken for ID Shield from March 2024 - Present.

      I used legal shield in the past five years, and I chose to close my account for
      a year or so. I relocated, started a new
      job, and I chose to open a new account in a new city. Although I opened the account on my own accord and I pay for my account out of my checking account monthly, Legal shield affiliated my account as being registered with the wrong school district and under another person’s name. When I call, the recording states that I have multiple accounts, but when I called to have this corrected as it prevented me from using the app and accessing a current account (app stated a past address attached to a closed account), it was not fixed. This is still the case. I am an educator. I was told upon signing up that I’d receive a discount as an educator. Now that I am seeking legal counsel regarding an issue with my school district, the misinformation on this account (which has my address and phone number but the wrong name, SSN, date of birth, and affiliation with another county and school district) I am denied the right to seek counsel against my school district due to the misinformation legal shield mistakenly reported. I do not know how after multiple open and resolved cases did legal shield not catch the error, but it definitely should have been resolved long before now. I have been told that I needed to open a new account, but when I asked to speak to a supervisor, he stated that it would not matter because I am receiving a teacher’s discount on the plan, and thus I’ve relinquished my rights to seek counsel against my school and district! I never was informed of this prior to actually using legal shield for employment advice; it seems illegal to encourage me to receive a discount as an educator but not convey that I lose my rights to pursue action against my district by use of legal shield. As many people attempt to correct this issue, many of your employees are baffled by how this happened. Additionally, I am disappointed in the gotcha game.

      I thought we had canceled the membership, but apparently we hadn't. It's an unnecessarily complicated cancelation, meanwhile they keep collecting. The lawyer they gave us for predatory landlord behavior was useless, so we ended up shelling or $700 of our own money to resolve it with a lawyer in town.

      I finally get them to cancel, but they refuse to refund any of our unused membership. It's nearly a year and all I'm requesting is the last 3 months.

      This was us returning to legal shield, but lessons learned. Never again.

      A letter arrived addressed to me sent from PRSRT STD U.S. POSTAGE PAID ST CLOUD MN PERMIT #1208 from LegalShield with CARD ENCLOSED on the envelope. This was a paper card as I have never asked for information from this spam post sending Data Broker bought scraped personal data outfit. I wish no further contact with this company nor its agents. Shame on their advertising and direct mail to the population with personalized offers. what ever happened to Current Resident spam mail? I want to removed from any contact with LegalShield.

      I’m filing a complaint against LegalShield for failing to provide services as advertised. I paid for a membership that promised free consultations and full coverage for certain legal issues like bankruptcy and landlord/tenant disputes.

      In 2025, I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy through LegalShield (case **********). I raised concerns about the referred law firm early on. Even a LegalShield rep, ******** ********, acknowledged those concerns. Despite this, when I tried to start a Chapter 13 case, LegalShield referred me to the same firm again. I asked multiple times for a new attorney, but they refused. I had to file Chapter 13 elsewhere, and was forced to file Chapter 7 earlier than planned because they delayed assigning counsel. They only referred someone the day before court and told me to ask the judge for a continuance.

      I also have a landlord/tenant case (**********), which should have been covered. None of the referred attorneys were aware of LegalShield’s “free consultation” policy. In April 2025, I opened a new case (**********), and I’m still getting the same scripted response: “We’ll message the referral team.” No real help.

      Each time I file a BBB complaint, LegalShield reopens the case and someone new calls with no knowledge of the situation. The cycle repeats with no resolution. Their services are misleading, the referral process is broken, and customer service offers no real solutions.

      Im rejecting the offer: Rebuttal to LegalShield Response – Complaint Case No. ********

      LegalShield’s response avoids the real issue. I did NOT “go outside the service” voluntarily. I contacted LegalShield after the attorney referred for my Chapter 7 bankruptcy refused to handle my Chapter 13. I asked for a new referral. LegalShield agreed—but never followed through. I was forced to find my own help and file the Chapter 13 myself. This was caused by LegalShield’s delay and failure to assign proper counsel.

      LegalShield also claims to have helped with my open case VA-ST6-ERX. But both attorneys they referred either never responded or refused to honor LegalShield’s terms. One was **** L. ********, who clearly told me she does NOT offer free consultations under LegalShield and does not have a written contract stating that she must. She quoted me $250+. The other referral quoted $400. These lawyers say LegalShield continues to refer clients to them despite knowing they charge upfront.

      I’ve contacted LegalShield multiple times. Every time, I’m told “We’ll message the referral team,” but then no one follows up. The next rep has no idea what I’m talking about. Cases are reopened, but nothing is resolved. As of today, I still do not have an assigned attorney for **********.

      I am asking the BBB to require LegalShield to show written proof of ANY actual attempt to resolve either the Chapter 13 issue or this open tenant case with a valid referral. Their service has failed across multiple matters.

      I request: – A full refund of membership fees
      – A written apology
      – A new attorney assigned for **********, not connected to prior referrals
      – Review of their referral system and advertising

      I purchased the Personal/Civil and Small Business Insurance through Legal Shield (PPLSI).

      I was denied for Personal insurance due to “business review”. In the policy, it stated that I could request who made the decision and I was never updated (email verification for this concern).

      For small business insurance as a sole proprietor, I purchased small business insurance and I was told that my policy was rejected in Pursuant of General Provision N (I am birthright citizen birthday 09/27/1992 of Mercy Hospital now Insights Hospital).

      This unverified information from PPLSI has caused me a tremendous loss legal, professionally, and from a business positioning.

      My personal insurance was canceled due to General Pursuant, I am a legal independent birthright citizen with a valid social security number.

      General Pursuant N - birthright with an official EIN populated by the United States Federal Government. Articles of organization for Georgia and Formation Documents for Illinois.

      My birthright citizenship is jarring, and I seek swift justice as this impacted my livelihood and business.

      Email: I noticed that the effective date was 06/24/2025. Per the arrangement, "Change of Contract: No change in the Contract shall be valid until approved by an officer of the Company and added via endorsement or supplement to the Contract. No agent or sales associate has authority to change the Contract or to waive any of its provisions"

      Also found, the "Examination Right: The Member shall have 10 days after delivery to examine the Contract"

      Would you mind sharing insights and the decision maker on this matter?

      Lastly, it states that I have 45 days to request reinstatement. Does that contractual alignment not cover me?

      My membership number is *********** I called in April To cancel my May membership and was told the cancellation would be done. Only to be charged in May and told no refunds can be issued once charged. I was then instructed to email Customer support and say verbatim “ cancel membership *********** plan on 6/25 not to renew.
      ********** *****” In which i received a response that they were working on it and that it was processed. To only be charged In july? So yall skip Charging me in june to charge me in July.       I purchased this service spent considerable time and effort gathering evidence, uploading it to their portal. The intercepting attorney had difficulty reading the documents I uploaded and therefore referral and collecting was almost impossible. I repeatedly called an told them this issue. I received notification that my account was closed abruptly and they told me that they can close the account at will. I want to be assured that the evidence is destroyed because there is sensitive information and evidence inside. I repeatedly demanded this but no one would provide this or that the information is destroyed.
