Seller knowingly misrepresented condition of the vehicle, attempted to hide mechanical damage/issues, falsified receipts for service that was not delivered. Ad claimed the brakes, engine & battery were “good/great”. Seller claims he had the vehicle inspected by his mechanic and there were no mechanical issues. I test drove it on 10/20/22 there were no engine error codes showing but it wasn’t driving smoothly, the brakes were bad, the radiator was leaking. Seller said he would fix those things (since the condition was listed as working smoothly with no issues). At no time did I agree to pay for those repairs, I gave him a $200 cash deposit. The next day, seller claims he had the brakes replaced & leak fixed. He claims there was $750 of work done and would “split it with me”. When I came to finalize the purchase, seller changed the price of the vehicle to $5000, claiming to “not remember” agreeing to $4200 and then claimed there was $1500 of work done to it that I was responsible for since I put down a deposit and agreed to purchase the vehicle Then claims to have “forgotten” the detailed service receipts. After being told I wouldn’t get my deposit back, I felt pressured into continuing the sale so we agreed on $4900 total (half of the alleged repairs and $4200 for the bus itself, in running condition). I paid seller $4900 in cash. He said he would give me a receipt via text because he “forgot” his receipt book. Immediately after paying him, he went to start it and it would stall. It was not running. I later found out, he was blatantly attempting to hide the engine failure by clearing the error codes in the system. The next day he claims the battery is dead and asked for more money. When I came to pick up the bus, it was still leaking and the engine running rough. He promptly left and as soon as I got the vehicle to the corner, the engine started smoking and the error lights went on, engine stalling. I contacted the seller several times with no response.
