            I noticed a 2.5% surcharge on my bill at Harry Buffalo in Westerville that was not disclosed anywhere to customers. I asked the bartender about it and she said they had notified their regular customers of the fee and that it was due to inflation. Is this illegal? I would think they need a sign or perhaps sticker on their menu so that patrons know the real price.

            Myself and a friend had lunch there last Tuesday. Food was good, good atmosphere, good service. Very happy till we got the bill. The bill charged a 2.75%inflation fee. Had to get back to work, didn't have time to argue so paid the bill. Most patrons don't check like my friend did, they just pay it. Seems like fraud to me but probably not illegal. Please check into this restaurant and warn others

            We appreciate this complaint being forward to our attention for a response. Harry Buffalo takes all complaints/criticisms seriously. As you are undoubtedly aware over the last 2 1/2 years restaurant costs have skyrocketed. As a result, many restaurants have gone out of business. The effect of inflation has greatly impacted the operating costs for all restaurants, including Harry Buffalo. As opposed to raising prices on all food and beverage choices, in 2022 and 2023 Harry Buffalo made the decision to add a 2 1/2% inflation charge on all customer bills. This charge is non-labor related. This charge is clearly stated on the first page of the menu and a second time on all customer receipts. Harry Buffalo wants to be totally transparent about this charge and appreciates the opportunity to respond.
