The apartment that I rent flooded due to a water pipe burst. It took the complex 2 days to completely extract the water from the carpet, to which they only did because I complained about the wetness & a smell that was coming about. The maintenance man also said the owner did not want to pay extra to leave fans to help with the wetness so I did not have any fans/blowers except for the small personal fan that I own. Due to sitting for the amount of time it did, it caused the padding/carpet to begin to mold and gave off a terrible ammonia/mildew smell. It then took the complex another 1-1 1/2 weeks to replace the padding and carpet, which during that time I was told by the property manager she was too busy to come to my unit for a smell. My 10 year old son & I were unable to live in my apartment for a total of 2 weeks. I have tried to contact the owner, ***, regarding prorating my rent for the month, to which he said he would think about and get back with me. That was a week ago and rent has been posted along with water and there was no discount included. I have left *** voicemails and emails pertaining to prorating the rent as well as photos of how the sink now looks underneath, there is a huge hole, and have not been contacted back.
