Mike originally designed our kitchen with the sink off-center to a window; he priced the kitchen before planning it with the designer at ****** to make the kitchen fit into the budget he gave, thereby compromising cabinet size to make a profit. He attempted to delay cabinet delivery when he should have started our kitchen to do another job, which ran over; our new appliances sat in the garage losing six weeks of their warranties. He was supposed to replace three windows. He tore out two, covered the hole with plywood and never ordered replacements. He gave us only an artists’ rendering which was not accurate. He collected most of the money. He ended the new cabinet drawers under the big hole nearly a foot short of the space, which looked very odd. At our insistence he put in a little cabinet to balance. The cabinets on two walls are so small that we cannot replace the contents. The shelf spaces are only 8-9” high. He installed the microwave higher than recommended; I have to reach well over my head (I’m 5’3” tall) which causes a hazard for spilling hot foods. The cabinet above the microwave is tiny and nonfunctional. ****** won’t finish the quartz countertops because he is the customer, not us. Other items were not performed. After not communicating anything with us about finishing the kitchen (despite his claim that he would take any other jobs until our kitchen was completed) he quit (via e-mail) 5 months after starting, not finishing the work. We have spent several thousand dollars trying to find people to finish the job.
