My 89 year old mom had a leak in our ceiling, it was a drip not that bad but a leak, we called Erie Roofing , 2 guys came out we showed them where it was leakingand after hours of talking they finally broke my mom down to agree partly because they guaranteed my mom they would stop the leak and a 30 year warranty (she is 89 years old ) i told her let’s get another estimate cause they wanted 16 thousand dollars, that is a lot of money for us she lives on social security
So we had the roof done, and the installer also guaranteed it would not leak again but he did not see where there was a leak , well not even 2 weeks later it leaked again in the same spot we called them and yes they did come out to look at it probably because we had not paid yet since we was paying it in full and not financing it, so they text me after iam already at work so I leave work and 2 guys went up on the roof and they said the boot was not sealed down ok they do that and than 2 days later it rains and again it leaks again in the same exact spot so now again they come out to take a look and I leave work again to get this issues fixed and the same 2 guys was up on the roof he said that they accidentally cut thru a shingle they installed and also wanted to check to see if it was the stink pipe well he shook the heck out of it and said it was hood it was tight I have no idea what he was talking about but he said it was not the pipe it was the cut shingle by the boot, the next time it rains it is now pouring into my room it never did it like this before Again I’m leaving work to take care of this issue I get home and now 3 guys are on my roof and they put a garden hose down the pipe and turned the water on and when I got there the kid said they had the water running for about 30 minutes. With no one in the house to see it pouring into my room, they sent someone to fix the pipe but still have yet to fix the ceiling, it never was the roof like the salesman said it was and we still have a mess

I am rejecting this response because:

the job is not finished, we never needed a roof, the salesman conned my mom into the roof and said it would stop the leak, it was a small drip until the kid shook the heck out of the pipe that cracked it and a  small drip went to pouring into my room and my new carpet and bed, and then put a hose down the pipe with the water running with no one home to see it was pouring into my room, yes they did fix the pipe but did not finish the drywall that was cut open, why in the world would they put running water into the house when no one is home, now I’m worried about mold and the insulation keeps falling into my room, I attached the photo showing where the ceiling is still cut open

      Sincerely,

      To Whom It May Concern:

Enclosed you will find the balance of what we owe you. I do not agree with your practices.
Your representative ****** ****** misled us through the whole procedure. We were led to believe you were an ***************** AAA rating through the better business bureau, and that legal American, union workers we took it for, were going to do the job.

I did research on roofing companies, and we regret our decision to have you do our roof. You see, and ****** knew how we felt about who actually was putting on the roof.
You can imagine our surprise, after paying union scale to have the roof done, that illegal aliens were on top of our home doing the work. These were not as you term vetted employee's. They could not speak ANY English, and since we had never signed a contract via doc u sign, as **** does not believe in signing anything he can't read, and in my opinion paper is the only way, we do not feel we owe you the full
      amount.

We had to clean up our yard of cigarette buts, nails, and I furious with both, as we have a home worth a lot of money in a real nice neighborhood. What we wanted to do is drive over nails, and pick up your trash.
By the time anyone returned a call, **** was so mad that he would not talk to anyone. We called and called on Friday, no one could return a call. I will be honest with you, we called ICE on Friday, your workers were well aware of this, and left 3 hours after they got here. No one was here on Saturday to finish the job, but took over 12 hours on our SUNDAY, to finish the job. We were told one day. It seems if these were vetted aliens, that per the agreement with you, the job should have been finished in one day. No work 3 hours, leave, never call to make arrangements, and come unannounced on Sunday.

We were also told that they were to clean up after the job, which was not done. Of course our neighbors and anyone else we could tell are well aware of your job performance, your use of illegals to do a job, and no fulfillment of your contract.

***** insists on paying the full amount, I would not have done so. We still have the dumpster in our yard, we picked up the nails and your garbage, and no return phone calls. We were threatened with a lien on our home by ****** who came for the money. Are you real, like we would give any money to someone with no paperwork, no authority by your company to pay him.

Yes, you have been reported to the better business bureau, and all details have been forwarded to them.
Union scale means union workers. We paid for the 3/4 inch plywood to replace the soft spots in the roof. We paid for the shingles too. That being said, why were the extra shingles taken from our driveway, the plywood we paid for, taken also.

It's our opinion, that we should be reimbursed for the garbage we had to pick up, the wood and shingles we paid for, and the extra payment received for union wage, and we had scab labor.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 07/15/2025

We entered into an agreement with Erie Roofing. 2 days the representative was here. They were AAA with BBB. They used American products. Little did we know that they used scab labor. We put a down payment to start. They showed up with immigrants that could not speak English. We are against any illegals being on our property. Asked to see that they were indeed licensed to be in the ** and was denied. They did part of the roof, did not finish in the one day time frame the company said would happen. The company upon numerous phone calls, never returned one of them. They were informed that ICE would be notified and they left. Funny how that worked as they were supposed to be documented aliens. Work began on the 20th, and we have not heard from them since. We paid union wages for this job, for Americans or documented aliens to put the roof on.

Erie Home Material Ordering and Project Preparation Process
At Erie Home, we follow a structured and customer-focused process to ensure every project runs smoothly and efficiently:
      Contract Signing
Once the scope of work is clearly defined, the customer signs the contract. This initiates a 3-day cancellation period, during which the customer may cancel the agreement without penalty.
      Post-Cancellation Period
After the 3-day cancellation window has passed, Erie Home proceeds to order the necessary materials for the project.
      Extra Material for Project Protection
Erie Home always orders additional material at no extra cost to the customer. This proactive measure ensures that if any unexpected material needs arise during the project, the necessary supplies are already on handpreventing delays and maintaining project momentum.
      Scope or Contract Value Changes
If there is any change to the scope of work that would increase or decrease the contract amount, the customer is required to sign an amendment to the original contract. This amendment confirms the customer's agreement to the revised scope and updated contract value.
This approach reflects our commitment to quality, preparedness, transparency, and customer satisfaction.

6/4/2025 ON July 7th receieved a statement that contract was cancelled, my money has been refunded, but my problem is they have not removed their material. Normally not a big deal but the have the shingles piled on my roof and has had them there since june 20th. I want the material removed no later than July 14th. I worry about the weight down the middle of my roof. I have asked repeatedly to remove items, my husband is in a nursing home and feel they are taking advantage of me. I am asking for money to compensate for any damage that may incurr. Weight on middle of roof and continual walking on roof to place shingles and other material on roof and the removing them.

I am having a roof replacement by Erie Homes. I met with ****** G and we went over the replacement and all was set. A simple ***** roof, similar to what was up there already was what was agreed on. The installers came and put on a roof (over the old shingles) that is a checkerboard design that I specifically told ****** I DID NOT WANT. So i was charged for a fancier roof than was agreed upon initially. In trying to reach him during that day and after, he has never taken or returned a phone call. The supervisor of the project was not present much of the day, and the installers were working up through 10PM, much to the dismay of myself and my neighbors. They were working on the back side of the house and my porch well after dark, and their work caused severe damage to my screened in porch. The Administrator came to the house on 7/10, agreed that they would fix the damage to the porch, he took multiple photos and agreed to that he would call me by 9AM on 7/11 to discuss next steps. I have not heard from him. A supervisor came to the house this morning and said that the porch was not their responsibility and going to come off the house. The work is still not complete. There is debris left behind. ***** left wide open that was discussed multiple times, for my security they must be left closed when they leave. So we're installing the wrong product, causing major damage to a porch, working well after normal daylight hours, not showing back up to finish, not returning any phone calls. This issue needs to be resolved. The Administrator, ****** P assured us that the porch would be repaired. We are holding him to that and expecting the company to finish the roof. and offer some sort of resolution, potentially a discount of some kind for installing the wrong product and delaying completion.

Erie Home apologizes for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. Our team has been in regular contact with the customer and has actively worked to resolve all installation-related concerns. The shingle color installed matches the selection outlined in the signed contract. During the roofing process, a screened-in porch detached from the house due to previously existing improper anchoring; this issue has since been repaired. Additionally, the customers requests for a final cleanup and caulking at the connection point between the porch and the house have been completed.

Since I refused to get a quote and ignored their non-stop phone calls, I've now been receiving calls from *******. I've attached screen shots of my call log to this complaint to show both the sheer volume of calls I have received, and different numbers I have blocked.A little irritated by the amount of times they were calling, I did a quick ****** search to discover that if you do the things I did to stop the annoyance, they will sign you up for spam and/or other trash. This leads me to believe they are "sharing" your information with their "partners" who are turning around and selling that information that was "shared" with them. This is at best shady business practices and at worst totally illegal. They say they don't sell your information, but they will share it with their partners who will sell it to scammers and spammers.

Quality of roof in question. 3 times, went on roof to see if job was correct ( I'm 66 & shouldn't have to do Q/A check project manager not doing his job) The work was done sloppily & damaged shingles. Rough housing on the roof. The flashing is done in an unprofessional manner & had to be done several times before it finally looked better, but not completely professional. At times it sounded like a 300 lb man fell, time & time again. Shingles were tatered, with drag marks & damage. The roof vent was damaged on both levels of the roof. Believe they didn't use correct materials on roof. They said the roof vent melted by the sun & caved in on several spots. They damaged expensive *************** siding & tounge and groove 3 Inch ceiling planks in our ************** They put 9 inch screws through our roof, all the way through to the inside of the garage and house. They reversed the screws, hammered old nails into ceiling- more damage. Said accidentally placed screws on to nails, & drove the nails through ceiling, Lie. The older nails were too old to pull out, they came in my house and hammered them back out, causing more damage to the ceiling. They admitted to the damages & said they take full responsibility for it. Once offered $7500 for damages, but we said we would rather go through insurance; they sent us to another person, said they would give us $1500 for the damages. The damages would cost well over $20000 to pull and replace the ************** boards they damaged. There 40 screws in the garage ceiling and 6 in our hallway, 2 in our bathroom. They sent a text informing us they will send Fed ex notice they're done, & want the rest of money, no final check happened or signed.

I am rejecting this response because:  This complaint needs to show it's the **************** in ******** that I am dealing with.  The Ohio office where Headquarters is located has not made any effort to contact us directly.  Also, although this message attached shows they (****************) are offing to rectify the issue once I give them quotes for the damage, I'm asking the complaint to remain open till that resolution is complete.  The reason being the many complaints from individuals that have dealt with this company have had long grueling disputes with this company all over ******************   I still have the installers coming out to correct mistakes that mad on their installation of the roof.  Once that is done and they honestly address the damage done to my property; they can ask once again if I'm happy with the resolution.

      Sincerely,

We acknowledge your request to have the complaint remain open until all matters are fully resolved. Your experience is important to us, and we understand your desire to ensure that both the repairs and any related damages are properly addressed before the case is closed.
To confirm, your concerns are being managed by our Chantilly, **************** and we apologize if that was not clearly stated in our previous correspondence.
We are coordinating with the installers to ensure the roofing corrections are completed.
Thank you again for your patience and the opportunity to make things right.

      Complaint: 23551340

I am rejecting this response because:

Since the complaint was made, several attempts have been made by your company to "fix" the problems.  The next visit will be their 6th attempt to correct all mistakes done to the roof and now gutters.  The gutter guards that were installed were too big and installed improperly.  Aside from the fact the installation will compromise the protection of the roof, they also look horrid since they had to be shoved under the shingles to make them fit.  This caused the guards to be higher in the back and look very unappealing.  ********************* has offered to come and put the correct size guards on the gutters and fix the ************ underlayment that was torn when the drip edge was cut away and reinstalled.  I still have a Ridge Attic Vent that should have been just a Ridge Cap and is already looking wavy.  There is still drip edge that need to be fixed.  This has been going on for 2 months now and we are growing leery and tired.  We also need the damages addressed.  I have gotten an Acorn Deck House ********* to start writing an estimate and when that is done as well as your compony honors the estimate with a check for the damages done to our ceilings and siding; then I will be satisfied.

      Sincerely,

      ***** **** and ******** ****

We had this 30000.00 dollar roof put on our house and it started leaking. The guys have come up here a couple times and don’t see no leak but we have a video of it coming in my bathroom and now the ceiling is sagging and they keep giving us the run around. Will ***** working forErie Home came to check our leak we had between our new garage and the old one. (Builder did not put flashing in). 7 yrs ago. He asked us to inspect the house and went up into the attic. He came down with pics of dust with water spots on them He said the roof needed to be redone. Several years before **** roofing had inspected the roof and said it was in great shape. He convinced us we needed the whole roof done. I asked him for the paper work he figured out the cost and for a copy of the pictures. He took them and said he would get them to me. Contract 2/7/25. 3/3/25 I called and asked for it. 3/25/25 called again 4/28/25 sent email to him Sent it a second time. 6/2/25 called *********** office. They referred it to OH and she called and told me they DO NT GIVE OUT THAT INFORMATION. I believe there is some cheating going on. This is our info we need to turn into our INSURANCE CO.Without it we have no claim. $57,000 bill that we paid. If roof was that bad we would have been covered

I called for an estimate for a new metal roof. The guys said they needed to do an inspection. While up in the attic over the garage the one guy went through the attic floor and damaged the garage cieling They told us the company would fix it , and wed. hear from them soon. Its been 3 weeks now. We call and get nothing but a run around. They say they will call back in an hour or the next day. Still nothing. We want them to fix our garage cieling , and the attic floor now.
