1 starI was contacted on 7/14/25 by I was contacted on 7/14/25 by a very aggressive woman from United Collection Bureau stating I owed them over ***** dollars and if I didn't pay they would come to my work and serve me papers. She demanded to speak to my Manager for "employment verification" and revealed to her she was calling to collect a debt - she did not have my permission to do this espectially since this was the first time hearing about the debt. She said I should know about the debt because they sent a letter in the mail, which of course, they did not. I asked for some type of validation of debt, which she would not provide. She said they only provide payment receipts or payment arrangements in writing. Even with violiation my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I offered to pay this debt in full over the phone. For some reason, the Visa would not go through their merchant services...we had checked with our bank and all was in good order there. They said they would "look into the problem" and get back to me. She called the next day and said it was looked into and made it sound like we could go ahead and use the card, which we tried again and would not work. I offered a cashiers check or an ACH transaction which they refused. I am willing to pay this debt but will need a validation letter, which they owe me within 5 days of contact. I expect it to explain the debt, and to show that United owns the debt and that the debt is accurate, which I am entitled to. Otherwise I plan on filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the FTC. I hope others will know to ask for a Validation Letter from this corrupt company.United Collection Bureau, Inc.

1 starThe state of ***************************** contracts with this company to retrieve outstanding debt. Not only did the state of Indiana file with the federal government to withhold our refund, but they also sent it to the united collection bureau simultaneously and therefore a Levy was issued by UCB and IDOR collected on debt through federal withholding as well. When I contacted the *****************************, the case had been closed. Because they received their funding from one payment at the united collection bureau and one refund withholding payment. Ucb closed the file and reopened it and put another Levy on our account exceedingly - Above the amount that had been paid per I d o r satisfying the debt. When I contacted, ucb, the associate would not give me answers, told me I was talking in circles which is a deflection to not answer my questions, and eventually hung up on me as I continued to press whose responsibility it was to notify UCB that the **** debt had been paid in full. IDOR and UCB do not communicate with each other and will receive and retrieve more then any tax debt owed. Their associate was completely unprofessional, would not give me any answers as to what I was being charged on their end regarding fees, regarding any questions that I asked and only pressed for payment. I would advise the ***************************** to immediately stop working with this company as it is not good for the taxpayers of indiana and to work out the issues of communication between the two of them. Further, I would question the ethical business practices of both entities.United Collection Bureau, Inc.

1 starTo Whom It May Concern:Today I engaged in a phone call from a representative by the name of ******. This phone call occurred at 10: 56am Central Time and lasted exactly 1minute. This woman was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken with!! She was very inappropriate and would not give me any information as to who she was calling to speak with, but she dialed my number initially! Doesnt make any sense at all! I dont know what the policy is with your company but if it is not to inform any person who answers who you are looking for; this definitely needs to be re-evaluated! She had a nasty demeanor while speaking with me, and definitely made me hang up with her immediately and call in to speak with the supervisor as well as send this email. Thats just how disturbed I was of her lack of professionalism and courtesy! I hope that this reaches the hands and ears of management so this type of behavior doesnt affect other as well as ruin the reputation of your business! As a person who has served for several years dealing and effectively communicating with others, her behavior was completely unacceptable, and I hope she obtains the additional training she needs in order to perform her job correctly. The crazy ending to this scenario is, I wasnt even the person she needed to speak with!! Apparently, it was the wrong number. All this could have been avoided if she would have told me who she needed to speak with from the start in a friendly, inviting way. I sincerely hope the calling procedure is changed!!United Collection Bureau, Inc.

1 starI got 2 voice messages so I called them back. I was worried about a scam. The guy was EXTREMELY rude and we couldn't get past him demanding that I verify my birthday. I gave the month and date and asked he say the year but he totally refused and said I could call back when I wanted to verify my information. I was threw arguing with him and hung up. I don't even know of a bill I haven't paid and he refused to even tell me what it was (like a medical bill or a tollway or anything) unless I would verify everything. I WILL NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH KNOW WHAT IT'S FOR NO MATTER WHO IT IS. So I guess whatever it is won't get paid.United Collection Bureau, Inc.

1 starThey claimed they sent a debt validation letter in the mail after providing them with my correct address (they had the wrong one originally), but they NEVER did. I open every piece of mail. I asked them to send another so I could actually verify theyre legit and that the debt was mine, since I was unaware of this bill, and they said that since it wasnt returned from the post office then they cant send another. Everyone I spoke to was rude and kept interrupting me as I was trying to ask questions. With as creative as scammers are nowadays they should be willing to cooperate with people who were sent to collections for debt they were unaware of, let us just verify the debt before we give you our money! I legally have a right to that validation letter, yet they refused to help me actually receive one. Thankfully I can afford the $260 to just make it all go away, but I feel bad for people who have larger bills and run into the same issue with them not cooperating with allowing you to verify the debt.United Collection Bureau, Inc.

3 starsCompany is legit but when they call you and leave you a voicemail it makes you think it is a scam. They call you from an unknown number, and leave you a generic voicemail about a debt that you owe. I initially ignored the first call and voicemail because I figured it was a scam. When I got a second one, I decided to call. Found out a hospital sent one of my bills to collections at which I was never notified by the hospital. I explained that the bill was from a workers compensation injury and they just had me email them the workers comp information. Company needs to be more transparent when they call you and leave a More detailed voicemail instead of a generic recording.United Collection Bureau, Inc.

1 starI wish there was a 0 option. On 3/8/25 my bank was sent a bank levy/tax warrant of $7666 Which they pulled from my checking account without my permission or knowledge leaving me confused and ultimately unable to make my rent payment, failed car insurance auto pay declined, failed electric payment plan declined resulting in disconnection in place due to failed payment plan obligations, I had to call my bank to find out where the money went and a representative informed me the levy came from United Collections Bureau.I called UCB and spoke to a woman named ****** who informed me I still owed on both warrants, and I owed even more than what they took and I needed to set up a payment plan. That was a red flag because she never provided me with an amount nor was I ever sent letters emails or calls about what debt I owed to them.I was under the assumption that the tax debt had been resolved.Having dealt with collections agencies before they call multiple times a day. These people have never called me not one time.Every phone call has been initiated by **** tried to explain that I took care of it all on 10/11/24.She put me on hold to call INDOR to validate that I still owed for both of these warrants.I was on hold for approximately 1.5 *********** she was able to contact anyone at INDOR in that record time is beyond **** dont believe she contacted anyone at all actually. She came back on the line and stated yes ***** said both warrants are still active and in collections, again unaware of any holds because I have been in the dark since November, was up and they were allowed to collect again. However, they waited an additional 26 days with no notice on their behalf telling me that they were going to be collecting? She stated I could contact INDOR myself, which I did and was informed that she was in fact INCORRECT I am stuck without money to make my house payment/pay my bills and wondering when I will be reimbursed the money that was wrongly taken from me without my permissionUnited Collection Bureau, Inc.

1 starThey added to my medical bill debt?!?! How is that even possible? Once the debt is "sold" to them how can it continue to increase? Its a 3 year old debt, not like something new that they haven't received full billing and insurance for. Tried to get answers from customer service and they were NO HELP! Took me OVER AN HOUR just for them to say they will send me an itemized statement. So they add whatever charges they want and then send you a new itemized bill? This does not seem legal!United Collection Bureau, Inc.
