I begin this complaint from November 26th of 2024. My next door neighbor had a "moderate sized tree" cut down the same day as her coming over with **** the owner. She said, "He knocked on our door for tree work and did it cash except for clean-up and I know you wanted your tree cut down." Too quick advice taken. Mom and I did want a tree cut down and Dave, mom, and I agreed on a price of $2,800 cash. Stump grinding not included. A group came back and worked on cutting it down. I went to the bank to get the cash and came home. I had to leave but left all the money for my mother to give **** when the work was completed. She gave the money "in trust" before the work was completed and she said," he would be back to finish the work weather pending." He left and never returned SINCE NOVEMBER 26th 2024 with at least a 40 foot tree trunk now sprouting all new branches. We have a signed paid receipt. I have sent pictures of the tree, called 3 times, texted 5 times since NOVEMBER 26th 2024. He texted back, "The sales manager is on vacation" and then the next later text said, "actually he is in jail I don't know what for and how much money it will take to get him out." **** has not even contacted me on his own initiative. My last text was early June that said he has "until the end of July to have him or someone else come and complete the job with no other recourse than to take further action." More than ample time for resolution. I also have in writing the "hauling of all brush." I hired someone else $250.00 to pick up the branches/logs that were cut too big for regular log pick up. First filed as a review on July 31st and as of Aug 18th a complaint pending review. No communication from Dave. I have scheduled another company coming out to finally complete this work for much time as gone by now worried about trunk stability and hitting the house. Taken advantaged of and TRULY THEFT of money and services! I AGREE with the ALREADY stated "F" rating of this business.Initial Complaint

Service date Friday 3/21/25.
They tried to leave the tree about 8 to 10' high. I had to tell them that wasn't acceptable & after a few conversations they did take it down more, which they were not happy about, but there's still about a 12", or taller, stump.
The contract was for them to cut all the wood to fireplace length & haul away the brush. They didn't haul away the brush & left a lot of pieces that weren't fireplace length. They hid those pieces that weren't cut to length under what was or almost was cut to the correct length. Unfortunately, I did not notice the brush all over my yard until after they left as I was on the opposite side of the fence in my neighbor's yard at this time & my shed and the cut piled up wood blocked my view.
They actually took some of the brush & threw it just outside my fence line, which I was not aware of until a couple days later.
I texted the number I had been using, thinking it was the supervisor, but turned out to be the owner. I text him that Friday, 3/21, & no reply. After two text the following Monday, 3/24, I finally got a reply. He was on vacation & said he'd be here the following week. I asked him to send one of the four guys that were here Friday to clean up the brush that I was still recovering from hip surgery and my grass needed to be mowed. After several text exchanges & a nasty attitude from him he assured me a few times he'd be here this week to remove the twigs (which he could see form the pics/video I sent they weren't twigs) from my yard. Since I hadn't noticed the big pieces that weren't cut to length until a few days later I made him aware that issue as well. I texted him two or three more times this week (week of Monday 3/31) with no reply.
They also charged me $100 to spray my yard for the carpenter ants that were in the tree trunk. Supposed to be commercial grade pesticide, but the ants are still there crawling on the cut wood & I specially asked if that wood had been sprayed & I was told yes.Initial Complaint

We hired Eldridge's Tree and Property Maintenance company to remove a dead tree and grind the tree stump. They removed the tree August 14 and said they would return on the 30th to grind away the stump. We paid them for the entire job, and they never returned as contractually agreed to remove the stump. They don't return our calls or text messages.Customer Answer

During the week of September 11-17, 2023 I was contacted at my residence by ***** ************** who advised me he was the owner of Eldridge's Tree Service. He had observed my dying Ash tree in my front yard and asked if I wanted it cut down. We agreed on a price of $500 dollars and signed into a written contract. The contract read they would cut down the tree, and remove all debris (wood). It also stated they would return on September 30, 2023 to grind out the stump at no charge. They have not returned to finish the job.Initial Complaint

In April ***** from Eldridge's tree and property maintenance solicited my wife (age 72) for removal of trees and brush at the entrance to our property. She told him that he would have to come back and talk tome (age 67). He returned several times until 5/09/2023 I contracted for the removal of trees and brush and two more trees for $1,775. He brought a crew and started the work. Part way through the day he said he had to go to the dump with some of the brush and wanted payment so he could deposit into the bank before they closed. I paid him on the promise he was going to finish. I had to call him to see if he was returning because he took so long. He said yes and did return and his crew did a few more cuts. He said there was another person coming to remove the firewood sized pieces and he would come back and get the brush as well as finish cutting the remaining amounts to be cut and removed. He said he would return the next day. I tipped all four of his crew $20 each for the day's work asking if they were returning and they all said yes. They never returned. I called and was told that their trailer broke down and they would be there later that day. I called the next day and was told they would return. I called the next and they stopped taking my calls when I threatened to complain to BBB and AG. It has been two weeks and they never have returned nor have I heard from them. I fear they are defrauding Senior citizen landowners in the area. I am requesting either a refund or the completion of the job.Customer Answer

Consumer More Information
The answers are that NO I have not heard form the business and NO I am not satisfied with their response.
I have not heard form them and some additional information they offered to waive the Sales tax if I paid cash meaning they were probably not going to claim it. But I paid via check and they added $75 for the tax which I do not believe is the correct amount. I think they are trying to fraud the IRS and the Ohio Sales Tax as well as taking advantage of seniors.
